It's getting better
on July 30, 2010 11:17 am
I've been doing soft foods for a couple of days now. Eggs didn't work out well. Felt stuck. Going to try again in a few days. I had one very thin slice of turkey breast (lean) couldn't eat it all & it took forever for it to digest. So far the easiest thing to digest has been FF refried beans and low fat mozzarella. Think I'm finally in the 800-1000 calorie range...maybe. It's really difficult when I get full so fast, especially with the soft foods. Usually a couple baby spoons full & I'm full. The weight loss is back, which I am happy about. The pain in my Gtube isn't as bad as it was. It's still oozing a but but I keep gauze on it. My time changed for the Gtube removal a few hours earlier...I'll take it lol. Can't wait to get this thing out.

4th week
on July 27, 2010 4:05 pm
Technically today is the end of my 4th week. Therefore I'm switching to soft foods. I'm hoping this will jump start my weight loss since It still hasn't budged. I bought a bunch of low/no fat, no sugar added foods. Wish me luck. So far so good. Trying eggs with toast in the morning. Getting protein in will be so much easier. Anyone have suggestion on what soft foods are that are healthy for us? Anyone having issues with veggie? My sister in law had a huge issue with broccoli so I'm scared to try it. Still drinking V8 light to get my veggie servings in.

Hibernation
on July 26, 2010 8:49 am
OK I've been in this hibernation period since my second week. I'm now almost 4 weeks out and I've only lost almost 20 pds. Getting frustrated. I'm eating/drinking right, taking all my vitamins, walking. I just wish I would start losing again. Just posting on the forum to see how long other peoples have lasted.

Things are getting better
on July 22, 2010 11:42 am
Well I called the doc about the large red rash/blisters around my Gtube. She told me to switch the antibacterial cream for hydrocortisone cream. It's working. Pain is a lot less. Still having a hard time getting 64oz of liquid down a day. Working on it. Week and half until Gtube is out. Counting the days.

Bad day
on July 15, 2010 7:24 pm
We'll today was a bad food day all around. I barely drank/eat anything today. I tried to keep on on the water & vit. but that was about it. Everything I tried to eat tasted really bad today, including my protein. I was also in pain most of the day because I ran out of pain meds and children's Tylenol isn't cutting it. I call for a refill yesterday and that haven't heard from the docs office yet. Which I wasn't surprised from my previous dealings with that office. I called them & they said the nurse was in today & she'll get to them when she gets to them. That pissed me off yet I still wasn't mean back all I said was please put a rush on it, that I was out & in a lot of pain. Day end...still nothing. Again not surprised. I have NOTHING good to say about that office. I know they are busy with a lot of clients but really a little customer service goes a long way & they have none. I really feel they don't give a shit about anybody. The only thing saving the doc from losing business is the fact is about the best in the US. Therefore I sit here in pain, most likely another night of no sleep. 18 more days until this tube comes out is not fast enough. My skin is bubbling up around the tube, the skin where the tape is is blistered and sore. I will most likely have more scares from the tape then the surgery itself. Going to see if I can find different tape tomorrow, I'm using cloth right now. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
