2 months out
on December 1, 2009 6:54 am
Well I am officially 2 months post op today. It has been quiet a journey. I really have not been doing very well lately. I haven't been getting in enough protein or fluids and my weight loss slowed to a slow creawl. I have recently started on protein drinks again and found I do so much better when I eat all day long. I know that sounds crazy, but it works for me. In fact I lost 3 pounds this weekend while we were camping, and I ate all weekend.  I have added some carbs in now. My new favorite is 1 slice of whole wheat bread toasted with peanut butter. I eat this about twice a week. I have had to buy some new clothes. now I am in size 16 jeans comfortably, and Large T shirts are slightly baggy, but not enough for mediums. I seem to have lost more weight in my face and upper body over all.  Last month when I measured, I was down 29 inches I think.
On another note, my self esteem has not improved any, and I am still battling with the green headed jealousy monster. I still see myself as fat and unattractive no matter what others tell me. My husband never has said anything other than, to get to a place where I am happy. He didn't care whether I had the surgery or not. He says he will always love me the same no matter what size I am.

sleeved and home
on October 3, 2009 8:46 pm
What a wild ride. I thought I was prepared, but I was'nt. Not nearly. I had my sleeve on Frifay October 1st and wad supposed to come home on the 2nd. The problem was I was unable to keep anything down. I had to stay another night and day. The doctor waned me to stay again, but I convinced him that I would do better at home. I am trying really hard to get liquids in but that's not easy either. At least the nausea and vomitting haved stopped thanks to Zofran and scopalamne patches. i got to a point yesterday that I wished I hadn't gonr through the surgery, but i would never say that to my family because I wold get the I told you so speech. I am praying foer a quick recovery instead.

Pre op
on September 28, 2009 10:57 am
Well here goes. I am 36 years old , married and have 1 son. I have Polycystic Ovarian Disease which causes some, but not all, of my weight problems. I ahve always been heavier than most of my friends, but not really flabby. I finally decided I have had enough of that and want the rest of my life to be different. I am having a gastric sleeve on October 1st 2009 with Dr Chu in Lafayette , Louisiana. I am really blessed because my insurance approved me on the first letter and the whole process has been relatively smooth. I have all my pre op stuff done and am anxiously awaiting surgery.
