All or nothing
on May 12, 2009 5:55 pm

I guess first I shall confess that I've had a terrible time the past four days in terms of healthy living. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday I did not run (which is significant, considering I was running EVERY DAY for the last 2 weeks... and also considering I don't walk to class anymore). When I don't exercise, I'm also paradoxically less prone to eat right... it's like I can only have it all or nothing. That was problematic, and I talked to my therapist about it who highly recommended seeing a nutritionist as soon as I get to Houston. Makes sense I suppose.

Friday I had my graduation party, which was really fun. I especially loved looking back on the pictures and being like, "wow, I look pretty good!" Rhonda came and gave me a great gift certificate to encourage/placate my ever-growing shopping addiction. Today I finally broke down and decided not to wait any longer- I went to forever 21 and used my gift certificate from Christmas. It's absolutely insane to be wearing medium things... I have a moment every time I pick something out cause I'm like, "No way in hell that's gonna fit on me..." and then somewhere when I close my eyes to put it over my head, or when I sling it around my shoulders to wrap it around me, it changes sizes and magically goes around my body.

the next week is gonna be crazy- packing, graduating, moving. then camp. so excited for that

The madness descends...

I knew stuff was gonna be hectic- but MAN- it's hectic. Today I have 3 finals- 1 down, 2 to go as I write this (I'm taking a 10 minute break or so to collect myself). Today I spent the morning in my doctors office, and then tomorrow I've got a different doc appt. and my huge party is tomorrow. plus I'm supposed to clean up the glass studio. gosh I'm already tired.

My doctor did say that I've lost 20 lbs of FAT since I was in on April 1st. That was good to hear. It made me wonder about investing in a scale that measures body fat... cause I guess I've gained some muscle bulk which is tipping the scales against me.

Today I got a couple more things that I ordered online- American Eagle size 12 boyfriend jeans that fit and look AWESOME.

alright, now to the finals...

When it rains, it monsoons

So, I found out yesterday that if I want to eat more than my sleeve allows- with minor determination, I can. I've usually been getting in like 850-950 calories, and then exercising. Well, yesterday was the first time I haven't run in about a week. I did do some serious work at the glass blowing studio, but nothing that gets my heart pumping like running.

Anyway, I was in the mood for cheese, so my morning was pretty caloric, and I ate a little past feeling full. Well that night I went to carraba's with friends and I was starving when I got there, so of course I ate their bread, making sure to dip it in oil so it wouldn't stick in my throat as much. And then I ate like 2 bites more than I should have of the entre (which, after the bread, wasn't much). Then I had sweets when I came home.

I finally got up this morning to track it all and try to take some responsibilty- caloric  total? 1766 calories. and the impressive thing, I find, is absolutely none of that was liquid. and I still managed to only get 40 grams of protein.

So, it's being filed in the "learning lessons" category, and I'm wondering whether i can get off and run today or thinking I may DDR instead so I can stay cool inside and also not have as much impact. I'm still pretty sore.

My doctor got back to me about being dizzy a lot, and he said it was almost 100% dehydration. I didn't think that was possible with how much I drink, but I'm uping the water anyway. I'm gonna be practically swimming on the inside.

I got to see Rhonda on Thursday- she was working and I went by and we chatted. she's so funny, and I totally enjoy her bluntness and how she understands everything that I'm going through because she's gone through it. It was just realllllly nice. I also got some more new clothes and they're cute. Got some skinny jeans ;)
