Surgeon Testimonial

David Kam, M.D.
Dr. Kam is awesome...very professional, but down to earth. The entire staff at Barix...from the reception, to nursing and pre-op techs are amazing. You really feel like YOUR well being is #1.
Dr. Kam WANTS to see you for your Post-Op appts....they are in your best interest...
He's straightforward about the risks....and possible complications...he goes over everything very thoroughly and invites you to ask questions.

So far (2 days before surgery) I give him a 10/10 for my overall impression of him, his competence and his manner with me as a patient.

I would recommend him to anyone!

Stay tuned for my Post-Op impressions....

Debbie - As your surgery draws near, I want to wish you the best for a very "easy" surgery and a quick recovery as well. May your surgery and recovery be as easy as mine! Remember, follow the Barix eating plan as a post-op to the letter and you will have less problems with your pouch! Remember to find a new way to reward yourself for your losses! Savour every pound loss and every non scale victory! All the best, Dawn

I'm 46 years old and have been given two most precious gifts. In 1999 I was given 'quantity of life'....and this year I was given 'quality of life'.  I don't plan on wasting a second of either.

Almost 11 weeks post-op and down 46 lbs!  It's still tough to eat sloooowly....tiny bites.....chew....chew...chew.  Still having problems with a lot of foods so I tend to stay with the 'safe' stuff.

For the most part I feel really good....and that's what counts!

I had my 2 week Post Op appointment today. Dr. Kam is very happy with my progress. I'm down 20 lbs.
at 299.1 lbs. His only concern is that I make sure I'm getting my water in.....easier
said than done, but I'm trying.
The Nutritionist, although not happy about some of the things
I've been trying to eat, has no problems with my oatmeal because it helps keep me from feeling nauseous
when I take my meds.
Her main concern is that I concentrate on getting my protien in.
76 grams a day is a tall order, but I'm working on it.
I've been sick twice....once because my tummy doesn't like
cheese right now....and once because I either ate too much
or too fast.

It's a learning process. I'm sure I'll stumble a bit on the way, but I'll get there one step at a time

2 more sleeps to go! I think the butterflies from my page have jumped into my tummy.
The dreaded BEFORE pic and my measurements have been taken....
Well...here we go...next time I post it will all be over!
