Philip R. Schauer MD
I was a little taken back at the first meeting with Dr. Schauer. I had my mind set on Lap Band and after he looked over my chart and records he suggested RNY. I was not prepared to discuss this procedure and all the questions I had were for Lap Band. I think he knew I was little taken back at his suggestion. I was given a week to think about it and decide what I wanted to do. I spoke with a good friend on OH and was told to just stand my ground and go with my first choice. I did go with my first choice, the lap Band. The second meeting I had with Dr. Schauer was to discuss the procedure, the risk and outcome. I have found Dr. Schauer to be a very confident and excellent surgeon. I feel that the post op and follow up care is very well constructed and geared towards helping the patient reach all their weight loss goals. I would highly recommend Dr. Schauer to anyone that is looking into any weight loss procedure.

Vacation Over

Bummer !!! Vacation is over.  I have been back at work now for 3 nights.  I miss the room service !!!  Oh, well, it was a great time.  I can now turn my attention to March 2011 when I get to go to Jerusalem. 

Ok, now back to Gym.  I lost 5 pounds while in Italy.

Enjoying the world wind tour through Italy.  Seen the sites in Milan, Florence, Assisi and wrapping up the week in Rome.  The food is great, been doing real good with watching what I eat.  I did treat myself this morning for breakfast ( a wonderful filled pastry and coffee from this great little cafe next to Vatican City.  The hotel here in Rome is great.  I am literally right next to to the Vatican Museum and just over the wall is Vatican City.  Well, off to bed.  I have a big day tomorrow.

The thought just hit me....two weeks from today I will be on plane for Milan Italy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I have been working on this trip for over 9 months now.  I still have so much to get done.  I have a appointment with the clinic on May 17th for a band check.  I don't think I am going to get an adjustment this go round ( I think it is too close to departure date to mess with it )  going this Monday to get my Euros ; good exchange rate now. 

I wonder how you say LapBand in Italian?

What a great weekend this past weekend turned out to be!  I was able to get the lawn mower, weed eater and the edger out of storage and do some much needed yard work.  I am so glad to be able to be back out in the yard; the sun felt great and I got some much needed vitamin D.  I had to laugh because just seems like yesterday that I was clearing the driveway of snow ( I was much happier clearing it this weekend of grass clippings. 

I did put in a new flower / vegetable bed in the yard.  I pulled up some sickly and overgrown bushes around the deck and put in the new bed.  I think it looks really good, just need to add the dirt and plants( plus a few prayers ).

 Happy St. Patrick's Day

I was checking the profile and realized I have not made a post this month.  I went to the doctor this past Monday.  I seen the nutritionist as well ( I found this meeting to be a waste of time ) I did get a fill, the doctor put in 0.5cc.  I think I have 5.5 or 6cc in the band now; to be honest I don't remember how much is in there and I forgot to ask.  Oh, well, I guess that is about all, have to get back to work !
