Still Losing!!!
on September 22, 2007 3:26 pm
Averaging about 338-339 pounds, 36-37 pounds total lost in a little over a month and a half.

Energy level is great!!  Freinds are really noticing the weight loss.

i still think i need a fill to kick the weight loss up a notch.  I've eaten some quite large meals without feeling very full, but then there are times where I eat just a little bit of more solid food, and I fill up quickly.  This is definitly a learning experience!!!

I am not eating very many sweets, which is great also.  That's the last thing I need is to get on a sweet kick, pounding back ice cream, milk shakes etc....that would really screw things up!!

That's all for now....just thought I'd post a quick update

33 pounds down!!
on August 26, 2007 3:37 pm
Hi all....haven't posted in quite a while....thought I'd post an update.

Its 30+ days from when I started my pre-op liquid diet, and I am 33 pounds down, however I've noticed my weight can swing 2-3 pounds a day, but I am averaging about 342 pounds.

I went to my post-op visit with my surgeon a couple of weeks ago, and he was very pleased with my progress.  i told him my appetite was increasing quite a bit from the first 2 weeks post-op.  Its still much less than the 'old me' appetite, but I noticed a big increase nonetheless.

Some days I eat very little and feel full and satisfied, but some days I eat much more, and know that I shouldn't.  Learning to eat without drinking anything is a tough routine to get into, but I'm getting better at it.  I try to drink a bunch of water or other low-cal drink just prior to eating.

Freinds and family have noticed my weight loss without having to remind them about it, which feels good.

I think I will need a fill though when my first fill opportunity comes up.  I think I need a little more band help to keep my weight loss going strong.

I took my son Tanner to Sea World in San Diego last week, walked all through the park pushing him in a stroller, and had a geat time!!!

A year ago if I had done that, I would have been exhausted for 3 or 4 days afterwards, but I felt great the very next day!!!

That's all for now....

13 Days Post Op
on August 12, 2007 1:39 pm
Things have been going pretty good all week.  My appetite has been increasing gradually during the week, however, I am down 5 more pounds for the week.

I now stand at 27 pounds total lost, 20 pounds down since my surgery.

I am probably eating around 1000 calories a day or less.  My energy level has been really good too.

I've hit the gym 5 days this week, gradually increasing my cardio workouts from 30 minutes to 35 minutes as of today.  I do 12-15 minutes on the eliptical, then split the rest of the time between the standard Lifecyle bike and the recumbant Lifecycle bike.

I have not had any vomiting episodes, and have not even come close to feeling nauseuos since surgery.  I have felt exceptionally full a few times, which was a little uncomfortable.

My incisions seem to be healing fine too, and I am starting to put lotion on them to help in the healing, and to lessen the scar appearance.

I have my first Post-Op doctor visit coming up on August 16th, and am anxious to see how the doctor thinks I am progressing.

That's all for now!!!
