Little things I wonder about. Tonight when My Hubby called (He is a Long Haul Trucker) we were talking about my surgery and how it is just a little over 4 months away.. I was telling him about some of the wonderful success's that I have seen on OH and some of the things I have seen people talking about. (ie; amounts and kinds of food to eat post op)
My Hubby is 5'7" and is about 145 LBS no matter what or how much he eats! (The man can eat a TON)
He said to me when we were talking about this that he would be scared to come home because when he comes home he eats ALOT. He said he would feel bad eating in front of me. I told him that He didnt need to feel bad or think that way..
How do you deal with this kind of Issue??

Personally it doesn't bother me. My husband also eats a lot and I fix his plates. Some people say things like this effect them. You are not hungry that often to feel bothered by it. I am 6 months post op and still able to control my cravings. Best of luck to you!!

Not married so I cannot comment about a spouse. But, I can say that, in my house, if I can't eat it, I don't buy it. What I cook is what I can eat and my son and nephew eat it too or they (my nephew) cook. I now make meals that are healthier for everyone!

It won't bother you. I find it even grosses me out to see people eat piles of food.

I am still preop, but I have already for lack of a better "warned" my husband that there will be some changes in his and my boys diets as well.....we are all going to stay healthy together.....
If your husband eats lots thats fine, just let him know that he will be eating lots of healthy foods!!
Consider it part of therapy for yourself, but you don't have to pay for it.....Exposure therapy!!

I was single, but in a long-term relationship with my sweetie who lived a few streets over at the time. He was totally cool with me not cooking for him for awhile, and with me basically keeping my distance at meal time. I really kind of hibernated for the first few weeks and ate mostly alone. That's just me. I did find it a little tough at times to eat my tiny portion and then feel like I had to just SIT THERE watching him (or whoever) eat. Since I suddenly ate so little, I was like, "How can you EAT ALL THAT?" in my head. Ugh. If you talk openly about it, I'm sure you can work it out however you need to so that you will both be OK with it.

My husband feels the same way. But I dont feel that this will bother me. I plan to eat alone forawhile. The only thing that I am worried about is me having to cook all the meals. But things will work out.
