Surgeon Testimonial

Eric S. Schlesinger, M.D., F.A.C.S
Dr Schlesinger is my new bariatric surgeon, and I think he's a real gem. He takes his time and I believe that he truly cares. I went and saw him today for my 1 year check up and he told me, that if I didn't lose another pound he would consider me a great success! He even said that my daughter and I were "trim". I was was high all day after that appointment I gotta tell you. thank you Dr S, you made my day!

Seven Months

I finally did it!!! One hundred pounds gone!!!!!!   I thought the scale would never move.  I belive it was a little platueau.  When I hear about plateau's that last 4 weeks, I can honestly say, that hasn't happened to me yet. It may be a week or two, but then the scale moves.  I think there is something to be said about Interval Training.  When I ride the bike on cardio for 35 minutes and take the rpm's up to 100 every 10 minutes for a minute or two, it helped the scale to start moving again. I think I'm getting ready to get on the eliptical.  I almost did it last night, maybe this weekend.  I don't have a personal trainer anymore so I started doing some squats and crunches at home, so that will help with the resistance traning. I need to bump that up some more too.  I'm taking in around 950 calories a day, and about 100 grms of protein.  I'm still trying to wrap my mind around more carbs and less protein, but its kinda hard to get used to.  I've had to buy new clothes again.  It's getting to be long pants time in the desert so i went to TG Maxx and Target and bought some size 16's.( One of my goal was to be able to buy clothes at Target if I wanted to) I weigh 191, I now weigh less than my sister(she told me so last night) so that's cool. Sometimes I catch a glimpse of myself in a mirror and I have a fleeting thought that I kinda look normal.  Weird I know.  My next mini goal is to get into the 180's.  Slow and steady wins the race!
