THe one thing about Dr. Earle is that she is a straight shooter. She is also pretty disciplined on what you are supposed to be doing.

She really emphasized following up and doing the right things.

I have slowely been shedding pounds and hope to be in wonderland soon. Stil have to get to the gym. I chased my kids around in Safeway yesterday and actually RAN! It didnt hurt it didnt pull, i wasnt panting like a dog in the sun! What a great feeling. Also dyed my hair black. it looks really good!

Since I found a doc out here (finally) I have dropped 8lbs! Gotta keep on keepin on..

Love you all!

Okay so the last time I wrote it was Thanksgiving! Well here I am 5 months later and updating. So much has gone on since then.

I took a job in another state, 2100 miles from NC. I am working as a Blackberry Admin at PetSmart. I was flying home to see my family every two weeks. The original plan was that they would move out to AZ after school got out in June, but the kids said they had enough and wanted to be with mom..   So here we are!

I have been stalled and have gained about 4lbs since january. So I finally said enough and contacted a doctor here in AZ. I have an appointment on the 27th. I have another appointment for my Thyroid checkup. My body is losing all of the loose skin and toning up, but I just cant drop the pounds. So I am hoping that the two appointments will get me back on track.

I have officially dropped from a size 26/28 to a consistant 16. It is hard to believe that it has only been 1 year.

Thank you all for your continued support. I promise Im not going to let this stall get to me. I have got so much going for me, and so many wonderful people around and pulling for me. I am not going back.

Talk to you all again real soon!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
on November 26, 2009 8:57 am
Today finds me sitting at the office watching the Macy's parade from one of my plethra of demo phones. This morning I looked around my closet and decided to try on that 16W pants that have been sitting there.. Not only do they fit, but they are kinda big in the legs. WOW! What a nice feeling. That makes the last item that is too small in my closet.. Guess this means for the next go around I need to go shopping.

Unfortunately we are unable to go to see the family this year for thanksgiving and christmas wont be any better, but we want everyone to know that we are thinking about them and miss them terribly.

Well, I believe I've spent as much time as I can stand here at the office. Im going home. See you all soon! Have a great day! Dont eat too much.

My Progress!!
on November 2, 2009 7:02 am
Okay so its been a while, but I just wanted to share some really great news! This saturday I weighed in at 225! I have 60lbs till my goal. I am at the half way point.

This weekend we went to the mall, we went into Lane Bryant to look at clothes. My husband made a comment after seeing the size sign that I wouldnt be shopping here much longer. Lane Bryant caters to 16 - 28. We went inside and I tried on a sweater, size 18. Too big. Okay, size 16. Too big. My next thought.. No WAY!

So after getting the shell shock of my favorite store being too big, we decided to go into the little girls store next door. Fossil. We looked around and they had this really cute top in an XL. So I looked at him and said should I try it on? Next thing you know the nice young man was showing me to a dressing room.

I started to change when my husband came back with a skirt, he threw over a skirt for me to try on. It was a really cute wool skirt, XL.

To my suprise, it went on. So did the shirt. Not only did it go on but it wasnt too tight. I laughed for about 5 minutes before coming out of the dressing room. Both of us started to tear up from me being able to put these on and they looked great!  So for the next 2.5 hours we went into every clothing store on the first floor of the mall and tried on clothes. It has been 17 years. The hard part now is not shopping.

I cant wait until the next time we go into the mall.

See ya!

Down 50!
on September 1, 2009 10:38 am
I cannot believe it! I am down 50+ lbs since starting this journey in April.

I went in for a fill last week, WOW was that an adventure. I got 1.5 cc added to my band and that was too tight so she took out .5cc's. I am now not able to eat as much as before. I also find that in the morning I am a little tight and cant really eat anything, so Im drinking shakes right now and getting used to the new restriction. I lost another 2.6lbs last week!

Posted some new pics that Aaron took of me in the park. Hope you like them!

Talk to you all soon!

My Story

Well everyone, as you all know, I have been struggeling with my weight for many years, ever since little Kristopher who will be 16 this year (man do I feel old) was brought into this world.  I want to share some very exciting and very welcome news. I have been approved for Weight loss surgery. The procedure that I am getting is called the LapBand. It is a procedure that they do where they create a new stomach out of your existing stomach by putting a band up around the top of the stomach itself.
Here is a video of what it is: http://www.lapband.com/#thisVideo ; Here is more information: http://www.lapband.com/

Many years ago I thought about getting this procedure done, but wasnt in the right place to do so. I am much more comfortable in my skin to get this done now, and Aaron and the kids have been so supportive of me. I feel I am ready to do this and change my life. It has been a constant struggle with my weight. I found out after I had Kris that something in my body went haywire. Then came Kess. It wasnt until many years later when my mental state had become so extreme that I found out that I was Hypothyroid.  That is where your body can not support your metabolism on its own. It becomes slow and thus puts on the pounds, not to mention a billion other problems. So now that I have it under control, the weight problem plataues or stalls. I gain about 5 pounds and they adjust my medicine and it stays. Then time goes on I gain 5 pounds and they adjust my medication and it stays. This has been the cycle since about 1997.

The upside to this surgery is that I may be able to come off my medicine, or go back to reasonable levels with it. Also some of you may or may not know is that I have Type-2 Diabetes. In most cases with weightloss like this, most people dont have to take blood sugar medicine either so that is appealing as well.

My surgery date is June 15th. I have my appointment with the Dietician on May 21st. At that appoinment I will be put on a diet that will mainly consist of liquids and small meals. This is to get your liver to shrink and allow easier access to the stomach. It also shows your motivation towards changing your life. They say if you dont lose 10-15lbs during those couple of weeks you will NOT have the surgery. Your doctor will cancel until you can get your stuff together.   The after care from this practice is great. They have a support group that meets every month to help you out and you get to network with others just like you.

I will keep you all posted on my progress and let you know any updates.

Thank you all for your support!
