Surgeon Testimonial

Todd Foreman M.D., F.A.C.S
I was comfortable with the first visit felt very safe and secure with him doing my surgery.
My first impression has only gotten better in fact just after surgery Dr. Foreman even craked a joke when he came in to check on me. He is great!
there is nothing i don't like about Dr. Foreman.
that he has a very excellent sucess rate in his surgeries.
he is very strict with his aftercare and that is why he has such a great sucess rate.
yes a very structured after care program he gives you a book to follow and a day by day sample menu that helps you along your journey.
He told me the risks associated with the RNY and even showed me step by step what he was going to do during surgery too.
I would rate Dr. Foreman a 10 out of a 5 star rating :)
Both the bed side manner and the Surgical competence is Great!
I do not have anything negative to say about Dr. Foreman I know it may seem weird but I am 100% totaly happy with my surgery I am 12 days post-op and doing wonderful I have lost a total of 16 pounds 6 of which was before surgery. I am very happy with this whole process but this is my own opinion and your opinion may be different once you meet him but for me this has been and is a great experience.

I'm home and well on my to being a looser :)
on May 22, 2009 1:54 pm
I had my RNY on May 20th I am a bit sore but most of my pain seems to stem from gas built up under my rib cage... I have 5 small incisions and they are doing great! I am 2 days post op and I am not hungry at all .... did anyone else feel like this? I force myself to eat a sugar free Popsicle and sip on water and a little sugar free jello and some chicken broth but I am only eating on my scheduled times not when I'm hungry and when I do eat I get full fast never getting in my full 2oz's.. Is this normal? I am loving the fact that I am not starving like some of you on here have said I am blessed to have come Through surgery just fine and being on my way to a size healthy!

I have already been on the tread mill I walked at a 0.7 speed, no incline, for 10 minutes the doc wants me to get up to 30 minutes 5 times a week I am shooting for my goal of walking at at least a 3.0 speed and an incline of 4  for 30 minutes ..... but I think 10 minutes on no incline and at the 0.7 speed is a good start for me right now :)

I am so glad to be on the loosing side of this surgery I wish all you that have not gotten here as of yet good luck and I am looking for those that have gone Through it already to give me some good advice on what things to eat I look forward to hearing from you all soon.

Take Care & God Bless,
Gloria

The Struggle
on March 14, 2009 1:59 pm
Hi, Just a little about my self. I am a 32 (33 as of April 6th) year old mom of 4 children. I am a volunteer firefighter, and am very active in my church. I have been struggling with my weight for over 9 years now. I have tried all the OTC (over the counter) diets and the fad diets. I have even spent lots of money to join LA Weight Loss in 2006 and was on the program for 16 weks and lost 9 lbs in the first month and then just platued!! I spent the next 12 weeks following everything to a T and doing everytihng they told me to do.... I was very commited but they said since I am a firefighter that I wasn't getting enough calories intake cause I was also working out at the YMCA 3 times a week and walked 2 miles a day the other 4 days and then at that time we had lots of brush fires and woods fires which had us firefighters walking with 40 lb water packs on our backs for hours So I became discourged after the 12 weeks of not loosing a single pound instead I began to gain weight again. :( I was doing everything right and was going crazy as to the reason I wasn't loosing any weight. So I quit the program. Before that I tried to follow doctors diets and even began to take the perscription diet pill Fastin and I was so happy when within the first few months I lost nearly 80 lbs I was feeling better and able to interact with my children again I was living life but then I heard that the diet pills we sorta bad for your heart so I stopped taking them and gained all my weight back. :( (that is when I joined the program above) so as you can see I am very discouraged now. Then in May of 2008 I was diganosed as a diabetic the dreaded words.. I was fat and now I stayed fat so long that I messed up my body... Since I have been diganosd I have gained nearly 20 lbs thus discouraging me even further.. I have acid reflux, Ostoauthritus (msp), Asthma, Myofascial Pain syndrome which the doctor thinks it is turning into Phibromyaliga huh!!! So that is when she asked me had I ever considered Gastric Bypass or lap banding and I said well I have thought about it but that was as far as it went.. So my doctor and I decided together that she would send me to the surgeon. I went for my consult on March 9th, 2009 and i am set to see the surgeon on April 8th, 2009 to get everything underway! This is such a relief to hear.. Finally something that wil not only help me to get the weight off, but it will make me a healthier person so I can live life again.. So I can go to the park with my kids and play and I can beable to set the worry of being a diabetic out of my mind. I know it worries me alot at the fact that if my sugar bottoms out an the kids are the only ones around could they really help me , ya know?
I know there are risks associated with this surgery and all but I have weighed it out in my mind and the benifets out weigh the risks so I am here.
I am willing to do what it takes to live a long healthy life and be able to be an example for my children and help us all get healthy and stay healthy! Thank you all for reading my post and feel free to comment. I hope to make long term friends to help eachother for the rest of our lives to stay on tract and healthy.
May God Bless each one of you in all you do :)
