Surgeon Testimonial

Joseph Regan M.D.
* What was your first impression of him/her?
Dr Regan is very professional and business like. Seemed very confident of his skills. This is a plus if you are putting your life in someone else's hands!

* How much does he/she emphasize aftercare?
There is a session right before surgery to cover after care, as well as a binder of material for reference. Dr Regan encourages patients to participate in the support groups as well.

* How did he/she address the risks of surgery?
Risks were addressed appropriately.

* How would you rate him/her overall?
I would rate Dr Regan very high and I would recommend him to others.

* Which is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or are both great?
Surgical competence is the most important thing and you can't lose with Dr Regan. His bedside manner is business like and informative... no warm fuzzies, but that is not why I chose him!

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
I struggled with my weight all of my adult life. I have lost and gained significant amounts of weight three times. In the 5 years prior to my surgery I developed high blood pressure, joint pain and a feeling that I was eating myself to death. I never really have a serious problem getting the weight off....it was keeping it off that proved difficult.
