On the Right Track, Finally
on April 11, 2012 11:14 am
Well now we are into April and I have dropped those pesky 5lbs and a few more.  I am FINALLY under the 200 lb mark and even when I stray (like over a holiday, or a vacation trip) I DON"T cross over that threshold that seemed to evade me forever.  I have also lost the "I just can't do it" attitude.  And it just took that fill I had become so fearful of.  I still go to Zumba at least 3 times a week, 4 if possible.  And I am much happier in my own skin.  I feel marvelous!  I will continue this journey.  What I want to be is more of a size than a weight.  When I get to a comfortable 10/12, I will start trying to just maintain.  Right now I am comfortably into a 16, and I do have one size 14 pants, BUT, they are stretchy material.  I have lost the W"s behind all my sizes and the "2" in front of my weight, and I don't miss them at all.  Other than occasional reflux when the late night eating demon rears it's ugly head, I have had no observable ill effect from the surgery, only positive ones.  And I KNOW how to control the reflux, I just backslide occasionally.  Hopefully, I will not have problems that others have had with the surgery.  I know they had the same types of hopes and dreams I did, and theirs were dashed. I am so thankful to be where I am now.  I know with as long as it's taken me to get to this point, I would have never gotten here without my lap-band.
