    I saw you are having surgery tomorrow and just wanted to wish you luck. I hope you have a smooth surgery and a speedy recovery. The surgery was the best thing I have ever done for myself, you won't regret it. Just always remember there are no strangers here, we are all in the same boat and we are here for you.

Well I  have been reading posts for over a month now trying to decide if I would take the plunge. I have a surgery date for July 16th. I 'm very nervous hoping that this won't be another failed weight loss adventure.    i need the whole story from my Lap band firends the GOOD the BAD and the Ugly

I have been Banded

well the big day has come and gone. the surgery went off without a hitch. I never knew taking a shower would be so exciting I get to take one today..... LOL  Yesterday I wondered what in the world have I gotten myself into.  Well today is day 2 and this is the first time I have felt like turning on  the computer. I don't think  i'm drinking enough so my husband has gone to GNC in search of another protein drink.... Muscle milk was recomended hopefully that will take away the awful churning going on in my stomach.

Waiting

Today is Jul 2 and my surgery date is July 16th.  I'm still worried about the out of pocket cost but I think i can manage hopefully if somethng comes up unexpectedly I can pay on it every month. I'm almost obsseed with reading the boards and asking questions. I'm such a pickey eater I'm worried that the mushy stage will be really rough and I don't know if I'm up to it. I refused to buy anymore clothes because that is what I have been hiding behind. I always thought the if my clothes were cute I could overlook how overweight I really am. Football Season is right around the corner and I don't want to dig out the XXL  T-shirts I won't my cute xl back!!! So I'm going to jump in with both feet. I'm sure I will need to re read this post a lot..... LOL

My Story

I have been overwight all my life I remember my mom having to look every where to find my clothes I wore 1/2 sizes and was so excited when Sears started to carry them. I went on my first diet when I was 12 years old. I will never forget all the compliments I got  when I went back to school that year.  Needless to say that didn't last long by the time I was in the 10th grade I was over weight again Then i started with the Diet pills that got my through until I got to College  then I married and had a baby and I never lost the weight mind you that Baby is now 22 years old.  I went to WW  2 years ago and lost 35 lbs i was almost to Oneunderland and now I'm at my biggest 261lbs this is probably the first time I said that outloud I'm 40lbs away from being 300 something has to give..... I have a surgery date of July 16th and as my Grandmother used to say if the Lord willing and the Creek don't rise I will start  my new WLS journey. I need all the encouragement and support I can get    .
