Surgeon Testimonial

Steven Tersigni, M.D.
I was so impressed the first time I walked into that office for my consult. I knew even before meeting the doctor that this was going to be my choice for a number of reasons:rnrn1. They actually answered the phone and answered my questions...didn't keep referring me to a presentation.rn2. There is a lovely picture of a surgeon praying before going into surgery, right at the front desk...very nice.rn3. All of the staff were super nice and down to earth.rnrnSo, when I met Dr Tersigni, I was relieved that he was just as pleasant as the rest of the staff. He explained everything that would happenbefore and after the surgery, and was open to answering any questions that my husband and I had. I actually felt comforted seeing him there after I woke up from the procedure. He seems like a very caring man, and he kept the incisions as small as he could...BONUS!

Friday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench!

cancel that....
on April 25, 2008 10:30 am
Well, I canceled my appointment on Monday- I just don't think I am ready for a fill yet. I am rescheduled for mid-May, but not sure I will be ready even then! I am still pretty restricted, and cannot eat more than my 3 oz, and cannot eat bread in any form. Heck, maybe I am overfilled and don't know it! I finally just broke my plateau, and am at 226.5, so that is over 60  pounds down! Finally! I hope I am  back on my losing streak again and it won't take this long each week to lose such a small amount! I am hoping with the weather FINALLY getting a LITTLE better here in Oregon, that I can go walking-but you never know what will happen here weather-wise.
One thing that I have discovered is that I am loving tea in the morning! I had been drinking coffee (caffeine addict) and eating yogurt for breakfast each morning, but that makes me so gassy and full, and not much to go on until lunch for that matter. So, I decided to start having protein tea for breakfast--
1 scoop vanilla protein in COLD 8 oz water
1 packet Crystal light individual packet--any flavor (I like the ENERGY formula)
mix that all together while cold, then heat 'er up in your microwave, and you have a nice, foamy high protein breakfast! I learned that if you try to add the protein powder to HOT liquid it just clumps up and is totally non-drinkable! Gross!
This is a really yummy breakfast, and it allows me to take my morning vitamins without upsetting my stomach. Works for me!!

Well, definitely a plateau, I am just sitting and sitting at 228. I am so ready for a fill. I am still a bit anxious to have it done, but the tightness I feel only hits when I overdo--imagine that! I have been crazy busy at home and and work...and feel like my surgery was just yesterday, not almost 6 months ago!!! Wow- time is really flying! I will write more after my fill on the 28th of this month.

oh Goodness

Well, I just measured my waist and hips for the first time, and the waist was OK, but the butt/hips weren't pretty! My waist is a 36, and my hips are a whopping 50.5! Ugh!! I wonder what they were before lap band surgery?! I found a website called 3fatchicks.com, and they have all of these tools that help you track your weight loss, and this was one of them...to help you know your "Waist to Hip Ratio" , somehow that calculates into your cardiovascular risk?? My "number" is .71, just below the "excess abdominal size" risk?? I also found that if I lived on Jupiter, i would weigh 538.9, and if I lived on the moon, I would weigh 37.8. Is it possible to live on the moon yet?
I guess now I will be tracking that a little closer!
