Diane, Here's hoping that you are home by now and doing well. Wishing you the best and a speedy recovery. Seaview is one of the most beautiful places in this great land. I love the whole Willapa Bay area. Karen

Well I have been home a week now and I'm feeling stronger. I had problems with my revision. While in recovery my blood pressure dropped low, I was bleeding internally. I was put in ICU and over the next 1 1/2 day was given 4 units of blood. I ended up staying a day longer then expected.
A day after I came home I woke up and I had a HUGH bruise going  from one hip all the way around the lower part of my apron skin to the other hip. And it is the darkest purple I have ever seen. I guess I did loss a LOT of blood.
And back to this liquid diet "fun, fun". But I did this all once I can do it again.
I have felt so much better, no vomiting, no acid reflux and I can actually sleep laying flat in my bed. Praise God.

Surgery Again
on March 6, 2012 11:45 pm
Well I am 6 years and 3 months out from my RYN and I need surgery again.
I have a differnet insurance company so that means different doctors. I have been having severe problems the last year with acid reflex (again). After all the test have been ran my new bypass Dr. has told me that the opening at the top of my pouch is to large and that the Dr. who did my first RYN surgery made my pouch 3 times larger than what she does, which has me producing too much acid.
So I will be going under the knife again to reduce the size of the opening and pouch. Lucky me I get to do the two weeks liquid diet and two weeks soft foods once again. But the good news is that I have gained back about 30 pounds more than I wanted to, so I'll now have help taking that extra 30 pounds off. LOL.

6 Years out
on December 10, 2011 10:28 am
Hey guys it's been awhile. Life can keep us busy. I am getting married Feb. 18th. As some of you may remember my husband of 38 years died 4 1/2 years ago from cancer.
I did gain a few pounds back but everyone says I look better, that I was to thin there for awhile. But I have helt this weight for about 2 years now. However, this last year I have been having a lot of problems with acid reflex. Doctors aren't sure why and Prilosc is not doing the trick. But they have ran tests and are trying me on a new medication. But it was so cool to get to see the pictures of what I look like on the inside now after the Gastric Bypass.

New Avatar

Wanted to add new photo to update, as I had some plastic surgery done. After lossing so much weight I had skin hanging off my neck, I called it my "chicken skin" . So I had that removed and I have always had eye lids that sagged but after lossing weight and getting older the eye lids were starting to hang down slightly into my line of sight. So I had an eye lift done too. I can't afford to lift my breast or do a tummy tuck, but at least I can cover them with clothes. But my face is a whole different story.
Anyway, I am doing well. Going to work selling Avon was one of the best things for me. I get to dress up sometimes and I have met a lot of new people. And in Aug. I am going to Las Vegas for the Avon convention. So I am slowly adjusting to my new lift without mu husband. As of June 2nd he has been with the Lord 2 years now.
Hope all my old friends from 3 1/2 years ago on this site are all doing well. If you read this drop me a line to say hi. And best of luck to all of you newbies. Hang in there it's all worth it!

My Story

WLS has given me back the life of my youth. Everything has changed, from the way I feel about myself to how others see me. I have found that my friends now invite me to participate in actives. Strange men open doors for me. And I no longer feel embarrassed to eat in public.

I have more energy and personal care tasks are no longer physically hard for me to do. I enjoy everything I do much more that ever before. I like who I am today. I am and will be forever grateful for this second chance at life.

I had a RYN - open / Nov. 29, 2005

Before 320 pounds / after 150 pounds

170 lbs. in 14 Months
