The First Step

    I have officially started the process to getting lap band surgery! I am scheduled to go to an informational meeting on weight loss surgery a week from today! I am nervous, excited, and relieved all at the same time! We'll see what happens!

My Story

    I am 5'4 and weigh 225 lbs. I was always a "chubby" kid but everyone always told me that it was "baby fat" and that I would grow out of it. Obviously this is not the case!
    I have researched the lap band system for about six months, ever since I saw a commercial on t.v. I have tried diet after diet and nothing has worked. I have counted calories, took diet pills, and even tried a liquid diet. As soon as I loose a little bit of the weight I gain even more back.
    My dad has diabetes and my mom has high blood pressure, I don't want to end up on medication for the rest of my life. I already suffer from GERD and take Nexium on a daily basis.
    I want to be healthy and fit for the first time in my life. I want to enjoy life to its fullest.
