Surgeon Testimonial

Jay Lenz
I really liked Dr. Lenz from the get go. He seemed very caring and honest. He did a great job with my surgery and I owe him my life! The office staff there is another story. The bariatric nurse whom I never even met until I was 6 mts out would be sick at EVERY apt I had sked w/her. This happened like 5 different times! I think they've moved her out of that dept now so hopefully others will not have the same problem. The aftercare program there could be better. They have support group meeting once a mth but they aren't that structured and I don't go much anymore cuz I don't feel I get much out of them anymore. They did help answer a lot of questions that I had pre - op though. Dr. Lenz explained the surgery very well to me and went over all the risks with me. He has a great bedside manner and I would recommend him to all!

I finally made it to Curves today. I weighed in and was pleasantly surprised at what I saw. My scale at home is way off from Curves scale. I like what I saw at Curves better so I am going to go by that! haha I was 219! That is a total loss of 69 pds. I was happy to see that. 20 pds to go to be in Onederland by Jan. 1. It's going to be a challenge!

Thanksgiving went well. Evan was not feeling himself so we didn't get to stay long. I ate fairly good. At least I think I did. I had turkey, mashed tater and gravy and about a 1 tablespoon of broccoli bake. I did indulge in desert. I had 1 spoonful of my moms traditional Eagle Brand pudding and about 2 bites of pumpkin pie. YUMMY.

I went out with some girlfriends Wed. night and had a ball. It had been along time since we were all out together. I had a few drinks. I was drinking ABSOULT with cranberry juice. I had a total of about 2 1/2 drinks in about a 6 hr. time span. I'd have a drink then two waters, a drink then two waters. I did feel them but I was no where near drunk or anything. I had a terrible headache in the morning though but I am thinking that was from all of the smoke at the bar, not the booze. I WAS going to get up early and go hunting but due to the headache and the fact that it was -11 with the wind chill factor I wasn't moving to quick. I am going to try again tomorrow to hunt if the weather isn't so bad. My husband has already shot 2 bucks a 9 pointer and a 5 pointer so we have plenty of meat but they only have 3 deer in the whole camp of about 10 guys so I am SURE someone would be willing to take another.
I made protein balls the other day. Here is what I used.

1 c peanut butter (i used simply jif)
2 scoops of unjury chocolate
1/2 c low carb special K
3 tbsp of sugar free maple syrup
1/4 c chopped nuts i used pecans, walnuts, almonds
oatmeal
3 packets of Splenda

I mixed everything up in a bowl and then rolled them in oatmeal.
They were yummy

I haven't updated in awhile. My nut called me back. Two days later but she called me back. She thought that the liquid diet thing was a good idea. I was surprised she thought that. She did say though that If I was doing the liquid diet to "punish" myself from bad choices I made that it was NOT a good idea. I got to thinking about it and I guess that IS most of the reason I was going to do it in the first place. I tried it and only lasted a day and a half on it. I can't even punish myself right! Any how . . . I've been really lazy and haven't been to Curves for over a week now. I don't know what my problem is. I just cannot seem to get there. I've still lost but not that much. I usually go by Curves scale for my weigh ins and since I haven't been I don't know if this is accurate or not but according to my cheapo Walmart scale at home I'm 225. Down 63 pds in 4 months. I think that's okay. I wish it was more. I am going to have a really hard time getting under 200 by Jan. 1 like my doctor thought I should be able to do. I'm shooting for Feb. 1 at under 200. I think that is more achievable for me. IF I get my butt back to Curves and start working out!

Okay, I know I had a really bad week last week. I have been feeling very hungry and eating to much and things I shouldn't be eating. . . . I took my DS Halloween candy and separated it. I had a huge bag full of just chocolate that I set aside and was going to give it to the homeless man that sits under the bridge every Friday after work and begs for $ & food like I did with it last year. . . but I left it out on the counter and I couldn't find it so I just figured my husband took it to work or something. Well then the baby was pointing to the cookie jar and saying cookie so I opened it up and there was all the damn CHOCOLATE. I was pissed off at DH from the night before for doing something that I didn't agree with so I took out a fun size Snicker and ate it. I felt fine so I grabbed another one and ate it. Felt fine. . . then another. . . . I felt sick . . . WHY did I do that?? I have decided to go back to the basics. I feel like I am getting way off track. Tomorrow I am starting the liquid diet again. I'm going to do it for 1 week until Thanksgiving. Then I'm going to enjoy a piece of Turkey, a small amount of mashed taters and a sliver of pumpkin pie. . . . I NEED to do something. I called my nut to see if this was okay to do but she never called me back. I don't know that they'd agree with that anyways but I need to do what I feel is right for ME! I am thinking of going to see the head Dr. to deal with emotional eating issues. I really need to get this under control before it gets to out of hand. I haven't weighed in this week and I haven't made it to Curves once! I did walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes on Sat. and Tues. but that is all I have done for exercise. I'm not to proud myself for that.

Weigh in at Curves today at 227 for a total loss of 61 lbs. Only one pound since last week. I am really going to have to work my ass off to make it under 200 by the New Year!
