Surgeon Testimonial

Jay Lenz
I really liked Dr. Lenz from the get go. He seemed very caring and honest. He did a great job with my surgery and I owe him my life! The office staff there is another story. The bariatric nurse whom I never even met until I was 6 mts out would be sick at EVERY apt I had sked w/her. This happened like 5 different times! I think they've moved her out of that dept now so hopefully others will not have the same problem. The aftercare program there could be better. They have support group meeting once a mth but they aren't that structured and I don't go much anymore cuz I don't feel I get much out of them anymore. They did help answer a lot of questions that I had pre - op though. Dr. Lenz explained the surgery very well to me and went over all the risks with me. He has a great bedside manner and I would recommend him to all!

Montezuma's Revenge!
on February 28, 2007 1:19 pm
It started Wed. on the way home from Mpls. in the car, I was stinking the poor girls out of the car but just couldn't help it w/my bad gas!  It was horrible, I wondered what was going on cuz I'm not normally like that.  The next day I started getting loose stools (yuck I know) then thruought the weekend it got worse and worse to where it was pure liquid and blood!  I had an appointment w/my primary care Dr. since yesterday at 11am and brought in a stool sample, they took one look at me and sent me straight to the ER.  I was severely dehydrated so the hooked me up to IV and ran 2 liters of fluid thru me.  I felt a lot better afterward.  I'm now on CIPRO and feeling okay.  I had a dream Mon. night with my 4 of my dead relatives in it, we were at JcPenney's shopping for a dress for my funeral. It was horrible.  I wonder if they were trying to tell me something.  Scary . . . .

Home from vacation. We had a blast! It was a great group of girls and we really had a good time. I don't know that i'd EVER go back to Mazatlan again however. It just wasn't my place. I'm a Caribbean girl. I like to snorkel in the blue aqua waters and the white sugar sands. I'm glad I went to the pacific side but I now know I won't be back anytime soon. We talked about next year including the whole families for a group family vacation. That would be a whole lot of fun if we can come to a decison on WHERE to go! I'll post a couple pics when I can!

Happy V-Day!

Only two more days to go until I am officially on VACATION!  I'm already mostly packed.  It's been 85 and sunny all week in Mazatlan, i'm hoping the good weather sticks around for us.
I've been getting better with my chocies in food the past few days.  I had two poached eggs and an english muffin for breafast, an ounce of peanuts for a snack, a roast beef sandwich w/provolone cheese and horseradish sauce for lunch and for dinner we're going to have steak, salad, small amount of potato and i'll prob have a lil bit of wine since it IS Valentines Day!  Then I'll have one more protein shake before I go to bed.  I have one w/my vits in the morning to, trying to up that protein intake before plastics.  I'm thinking that i'm going to do a liquid diet before my surgery like I did for the gastric bypass.  I want to lose as much belly fat as I can before I go under the knife!

One more week before we leave for the 3rd annual girls trip!  I'm getting pretty excited, it's been well below zero everyday this past week so I'm looking forward to 80 and sunny!
I've got to get a grip here on my eating.  Seems like ever since my Dr. told me he was concerned I was losing too much weight it's kinda given me this false sense of security that it's okay for me to eat like a pig and i've gained about 5 lbs!  I wish he'd have never said that to me.
I'm also getting a bit nervous about my ps March 22nd.  I'm excited at the same time but also can't help but feel a bit scared about it.  I'm looking forward to the final result and hope it's all worth it in the end.
Have a great weekend everyone!
