Surgeon Testimonial

Jay Lenz
I really liked Dr. Lenz from the get go. He seemed very caring and honest. He did a great job with my surgery and I owe him my life! The office staff there is another story. The bariatric nurse whom I never even met until I was 6 mts out would be sick at EVERY apt I had sked w/her. This happened like 5 different times! I think they've moved her out of that dept now so hopefully others will not have the same problem. The aftercare program there could be better. They have support group meeting once a mth but they aren't that structured and I don't go much anymore cuz I don't feel I get much out of them anymore. They did help answer a lot of questions that I had pre - op though. Dr. Lenz explained the surgery very well to me and went over all the risks with me. He has a great bedside manner and I would recommend him to all!

Well, I had my 2 mt check up with Dr. Lenz yesterday. He didn't seem concerned about anything and told me not to worry that I was just one of the lucky ones that everything looks great. I was down 47 pds. SO, i've only lost one stinkin pound again this week. Dr. Lenz said that is going to happen but he assures me that i'm doing just fine. He said a reasonable goal for me would be 160. That is the exact number that I had in the back of my mind too. He thinks I should be able to get under 200 pds by Jan. 1. If I keep losing only one pd a week that is for sure not going to happen. I've been exercising and eating right except for a slip up I had the other night. I got home from work and I was starving. I opened the fridge and a slice of Schwan Man cheesecake was staring back at me. I thought, i'm just going to take a couple bites and see how it goes. I ate the whole damn thing! I thought for sure I was going to get sick. . . I DIDN'T. Damit! I was hoping I would so that I KNEW to stay away from it. Now I know I can have it and it won't get me sick. Dr. Lenz was surprised that it didn't make me sick either. Not so much the sugar, only 14 g of sugar but the fat grams are high and I should have probablydumped. NOTHING has made me dump yet so I have to really watch it. I'm just not going to buy them anymore. Cheesecake will be reserved for a "special occasion" and just a few bites.
