Surgeon Testimonial Terrence Fullum, M.D.,F.A.C.S. My first impression of Dr. Fullum was OH Goodness he is fine. Ok, on a serious note he was very informational in his presentation and he cares about the well being of his patients. Dr. Fullum wants his patients to be successful in the efforts of weightloss surgery. I would rate him overall as being a FINE 10 for looks and knowledge. He makes you feel very comfortable and answer all questions that a patient may have. Member Interests

My Story " Pre-Op Appointment 1/4/07 : 259 Goal Weight : 160 October 10th 2006 The Journey begins. I became interested in weightloss surgery earlier this year, I even attended a seminar with Dr. Afram at GW Washington Hopsital. My frist impression was scared and didn't know if the surgery was for me. I knew I had to do something about my weight and I didn't want to go back for B12 injections. The part that scared me the most was talking to my family especially one of my brothers his comments were," you don't need that surgery, " "That is for really FAT people." Well I have come to realize that ignorance to research is a waste of brain cells. Because alot of people think that to receive the Gastric Bypass you have to be this 500 - 600 pound person and out of breath all the time. After all I have been researching and reading anything I could get my hands on but needless to say the Obesityhelp.com website gave me more confidence in believing that this surgery is for me. I have begun the process by going to Dr. Fullum's semiar which was held on Sept. 21, 2006. The next day I faxed over the health questionnaire to get the ball rolling. I have already completed my PSY visit with Dr. Joseph Carr, that went well. I also have talked to my PCP about whether this surgery is for me. Anyway my next step is to visit Dr. Fullum for my consult on October 26, 2006. Until then.............. One other thing is that I never told you that the weightloss journey has been since birth I was a 10 pound 6 1/2 oz bruiser :)) and from there it has been history. I was always the child that wore the junior size clothes in elementary and junior high schools. I started my first diet in high school preparing for the PROM and lost about 40 pounds and not even a year later the weight was back from out of no where. My ideas of having the surgery is not to have a small "bomb body" (lol). Right now I am very comfort in my BIG, BEAUTIFUL body. I am a pretty, beautiful, self-confident Black female even in plus size clothing. I am in the process of wanting to have the surgery because of the hypertension, the regain of weight from diets, feet and ankles swellen and, OH OF COURSE THE SIZE 10-12. :))!!!! JUST JOKING UNTIL NEXT TIME.
