James Pitt, D.O.
I started my journey with Dr. Pitt and Boone Hospital here in Columbia in November 2005.
I was so pleased that I chose this group to help me meet my goal. Dr. Pitt and his staff
were wonderful. They were patient and thorough in answering any questions and addressing any concerns. I had my surgery on Feb. 22nd. Dr. Pitt and his staff were so
great not only to me but my whole family of
support that was there. I had a minor episode
shortly after surgery but Dr. Pitt was right there to take charge of the situation and to
calm my family. everything went smooth and back to my room in no time. Recovery was
swift and home in 3 days. Dr. Pitt and his
staff have a wonderful program in place. They are there for you before the surgery and the followup care is great. I would highly recommend Dr. Pitt and his program to anyone. He is very personable, talented and a skilled surgeon. One must also remember though that although a hugh responsibility lies on your surgeon and team---the biggest
responsibility lies on the individual to follow

    7 weeks since surgery and I am doing great. have lost a total of 42 lbs. best decision I have made for myself. am having a little problem adjusting to foods but not to be discouraged. keep trying to eat but biggest concern is getting enough protein. Have wonderful support people all around me and that helps.

My Story

It has been 10 months now since my surgery and I have lost a whoping 105 lbs and I feel great.  Like having a new lease on life.  I have gone from a size 2X to a size 7 in Juniors.  I can't believe it.  My friends stare in augh and I love it!!! We had a neighborhood Christmas get together and most of my neighbors(who had seen me in the yard) had thought that my husband was having an affair!!!!!!! they didn't even recognize me.  That is so wonderful.  Just spent Christmas with my 2 sons and grandchildren and it was so nice to sit on the floor with them and play and be able to get up!!  You know what I am talking about!!!  I am just beginning to explore excess skin removal and so much to learn there.  Hopefully set up a few consultations for the first part of the year.  Will keep you informed how that journey goes.  You all have a blessed New Year and may your exerience be as rewarding as mine has been.
