Surgeon Testimonial

Bruce Long, M.D.
Ok, I met Dr Long a week before my surgery. He endured my list of presurg questions. I had been warned about dry humor but not too bad. Main thing was he has done a lot of these surgeries and he do a good job on me! Only 1 week post op and would recommend him to other patients.

Hello. Down 3.4 this week. I'm glad though hoped after working out 5 days this week it would have been more.
Thanks,
Robin

I joined a gym!!
on March 20, 2009 5:22 pm
Joined Planet Fitness today  . It seems great. I am pumped up and my friend said she is going to join with me. I am so excited!!! I walked a mile on the treadmill and felt great afterwards. I didn't want to do too much because I don't want to get sore that I stop. I also did the stand up tanning bed and massage chair. It was great. Today was my first "exercise." I know I should be ashamed I haven't done more before now but anyway...I'm going now!!! They have treadmills, elipticals, different bikes, stationary weight machines....and best of all...you can watch tv while you do it. I must sound like I live in a cave to some people but this place is $19.99 a month. I am feeling like a new person.

Yesterday I had a happy pouch. I ate around 900+ calories! It scares me the days that happens because I am worried I have done something wrong. Like..Why didn't my stomach hurt? Have I already stretched it? I think and hope its because I am learning how to eat appropriately. Avoiding the drink while eating, protein first, eating stuff I know I can tolerate, and knowing when to stop....my dog helps with that

Thanks for reading.

first week at work
on March 13, 2009 4:32 pm

My week was stressful and exhausting but ended well. I cried from being overwhelmed on Thursday and one of my coworkers helped me sit down and prioritize so it didn't seem so bad. I couldn't see the forest from the trees....or however that saying is.

Ate out 3 times. Boy was that a waste. It was 2 coworkers birthday and the last eat out I got breakfast on the way into work. The first time I ate out I got french onion soup. It was delicious but didn't eat bread. The second we went somewhere that only had crab soup...yuck. So I tried 4 bites of cheese quesedia and it did not agree...I think I had drank too much tea before. I should have known better. The last eat out was this morning. I knew I had not eaten much protein and I was feeling hungry and got a low carb bowl from hardees (egg, cheese, ham, bacon, sausage). This was very fatty however I was still able to eat about 1/3 of it with no issues. I need to get back to the protein shakes.

Weight loss has slowed. I am barely eating and think that may be part of the cause. When I read the blogs some people lost slow like me and some lost superfast. I am being patient. Any loss is a loss and not a gain. I am taking vitamins, under tongue b12, and tums.

Thanks,
Robin
