Surgeon Testimonial

Bruce Long, M.D.
Ok, I met Dr Long a week before my surgery. He endured my list of presurg questions. I had been warned about dry humor but not too bad. Main thing was he has done a lot of these surgeries and he do a good job on me! Only 1 week post op and would recommend him to other patients.

about me
on February 1, 2009 4:40 pm
Hello,

My name is Robin. I had RNY on !/26/2009. Please excuse me while I am becoming technologically challenged with using this type of site. I am not sure how people like to read posts but I will start off saying that I weighed Monday morning at home before surgery and today was down 7.6 pounds. I am pleased but was not easy. Hospital stay was not good. The day I was admitted the bariatric floor was filled and I was sent to a floor that was not "use to" bariatric patients.

This week has been rough, pain, my body felt like it was in withdrawl from food. My ribs/chest/shoulders are still hurting. At times not bad and others shooting pains. The beginning of the week while in the hospital, I definitely went thru a 'what did i do to myself stage'. I have felt comforted by others reminding me that I will get through it and I am definitely feeling better today. I have been eating things like pudding, yogurt, soup broth, cheese, string cheese, edd substitute, and drinking tea. My nutritionist wasn't so agains tea as she was making sure protein, protein protein. That has been difficult by I am trying some more things to get it in.

I plan to get the before picture posted soon. I am trying to figure out how  everyone is getting that weight bar on their posts as well. Bare with me. I would like to share my journey as  I have thoroughly enjoyed reading about others.

Thanks,
