My body has changed like the wind on a early Spring day; sounds of bones rubbing that was once lubricated with layers of my life. Patiently waiting and anticipating the numbers as they slowly creep down; on the edge if no change. In the mirror is where I have found myself; wondering who the face is staring back at me. It's different, passionate, profound, and puzzling to think I have been buried this long. Thirty-plus years of prison within the walls of flesh, wondering if an escape was even possible. Everything has changed; the sun is brighter because I go and see it now. The moon is more clear because I care. The air is scented with smells that I haven't experienced since the age of 13. To some or should I say most; my words won't mean much and may seem ridiculous; but life is beginning again. I know why the caged dog barks, the homebound elderly person cries, and the baby in the womb kicks. A way out is there; you just can't do it alone.
