Hello Everyone

I'm new to this forum, so I hoping to meet some people who are just starting the process and those who have gone through it so I can obtain a wide varieties of views. I've just decided that I'm going to act and take the necessary steps to get the ball rolling to have Gastric By-Pass. I have thought about this for years, yet I always put myself on the back burner. This year 2008 is all about Self Developement, I've gone to the information seminar and now I'm scheduled to meet with the dietician this Thursday. My insurance requires that I go under a medically supervised program first. I'm ok with this, as this will give me time to prepare myself mentally.

I look forward to chatting with you all~

Update
Well it's being a while since I have posted and I said to myself that I will post at least once a week. Well I have a lot of complaints and a lot of positives about my surgery. I will start with the positives.

  Positives:
I have a new out look on life and look forward to living every day with my husband.
I have a second change to get it right
My high blood pressure is down and I’m to come off of my meds per the primary doctor in January.
I have lost 50 pounds so far.
I’ve started back exercising
I can fit clothes that looked horrible on me about a month ago.

Negatives:
I really don't like it when my food get stuck, well who really does but when it happens it makes my back hurt and I feel like I'm going into body spasms.
I limit myself on food selection as I’m so afraid that it will get stuck so my meal plan is a little boring.
I really want some Thai food   I can honestly say that the positives out way the negatives and I’m happy about that.     I know that I look good with the weight that I have lost, I know that sounds vain well know it doesn't I love me.

Good Days and Bad Days
on December 1, 2008 11:07 am

I have some good days and bad days. I have moments that I feel like what has I done but I know in the end I will overcome. Eating is a challange since I don't want to eat and sometime has to force myself to have something. Well I know that with God and prayer I will make it.

Change in Plans
on November 4, 2008 11:15 am
Ok, I called the doctors office to see if I could have sugar free popsicles while on the liquid diet, was told no but also was informed that my doctor decided to change the location on my surgery so I'm off to Indiana to St. Maraget of Mercy on Tuesday for the big day.

This through me for a loop, I'm unfamilar with this hospital so I have to do some research to find out more about it.

This liquid diet sucks and my stomach is like hey feed me, my husband made icee cups for me with crystal light so it's a nice treat.

I got all my testing out of the way, so all I have to left is my pre and post opt class which is held this Saturday so I'm well on my way.
