Surgeon Testimonial Armando Joya I had an excellent experience. I was so nervous, but everything went off without a hitch. The whole team was extremely nice, compassionate, and attentive to my needs, questions, concerns etc. When I needed something extra for pain, they handled it. I felt very well cared for. As an RN, I can say the hospital in Mexico was cleaner than the one I currently work for. The docs were much nicer too. Aftercare was well described in a written format downloaded through email. I would recommend Dr Joya to anyone. I especially loved my anesthesiologist. My husband went with me, and they fed him in the hospital so he didn't have to travel alone in a strangle place and he slept in my room that night. The only possible negative thing (and I knew it going in, so I'm not comlaining) was that the nurses were not fluent in English. Also, narcotics are hard to get a hold of in Mexico if you do have excessive pain issues. But Dr Joya and Nathalie did come through after some brief frustration. Member Interests

I was banded Feb 9, 2007 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico by Dr. Joya.
My Story Hi everyone. My name is Lori. I just got married Oct. 28, 2006. We went to Mexico on our honeymoon in Nov and who knew I'd be returning in a matter of months to do the weight loss surgery? I chose Dr. Armando Joya. My date is Feb 9, 2007. Dr. Curry in Cincinnati will be doing my after care and fills. I'm an RN, I work at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. I currently work on a cardiac step down unit. I'm transferring to ER next week. Something new...I'm looking forward to a lot of new changes in my life, work, new marriage, the lap band. We knew each other and dated for 3yrs before we got married. Ron loves me, fat and all, but is very supportive through this process just because he realizes how unhappy I am with my weight. I can't wait! I met my husband through an F-body club. I race and modify performance vehicles. F-Bodies are Camaros, Trans Am's and Firebirds. |
