Surgeon Testimonial

Howard McCollister, M.D.
I met with Dr. McCollister on the 12th of december. He seemed real knowledgeable and very supportive in my decision to have the RNY. I think I have made the right decision and I could not ask for anyone else better to do it.

Almost 6 months postop!!!!!!
on July 8, 2008 6:45 am

Hello everyone, all is going great here. I have sort of stalled at this time but I am sure it will pick back up. I am still happy with what I have accomplished but I still want more weight off!!! Right now I weigh 260 lbs and when I started this I weighed 350 lbs.  I am in 42 pants now and very happy with that. Soon I hope to be in the 30's. I have not been that small since I was in high school. I go into see my surgeon on the 16th and hope he doesn't scold me too much. I thank you all for your support.

Take care Richard

I feel fantastic. The doctor has already taken me off diabetic and blood pressure meds . When I started this I was wearing 58 pants and now I am already down to a 44 waist. My energy has shot through the roof. I have lost a total of 75 lbs which is never to come back again. Thanks to all of you for your support.

6 days postop

Well sorry for me not posting earlier but I have been trying to keep myself entertained. Well surgery really went off without a hitch. I got a 3 for 1 deal, he added an appendectomy and a umbilical hernia repair. During my stay in the hospital I contracted a allergic reaction. Come to find out it came from the prep they used on me for surgery. They sent me home monday and really I am glad, hospital beds aren't real comfortable. I have pain meds and I am doing pretty good. I am on purreed foods right now and they are going down pretty good. Update more after my postop appointment next tuesday.

Not to be very happy surgery is around the corner. I met with my surgeon yesterday and he is very happy that I am sticking with the course. As of today I have lost 43 lbs since I started the program and over 78 lbs since last January. I can't wait to put this tool to work and I can't wait to get back into normal clothes again. Thanks to all of OH and my friends for all of the support you have given me. I am hoping to take my laptop to the hospital with me to give me something to do while I am there.

Take Care Love you all

My Story

Thank you for allowing to be a part of this group. Over the past few years I have really had a rough time. Back in 2000 I was diagnosed with throat cancer and I am 5 years clean now. Right now I need to get the rest of my life in order. I think losing a lot of weight is the main thing right now. I have always been big , and i really want to change my lifestyle.
