Surgeon Testimonial Ara Keshishian, M.D May 12, 2006. Well, I finaly made it out to Delano to meet Dr. K. and his crew. They are all very friendly, caring and busy people. I got a really good vibe from Dr. K. The majority of our conversation was spent discussing subjects other than my surgerey. After two years worth of research, and the time spent with Dee yesterday morning, I really didn't have alot of procedure specific questions for him. My greatest concern was addressed after spending a little time with Dr. K. I found him to be very caring and open minded. Especialy when it concerns morbid obesity. I now that I am more responsible than anyone for my weight, as does Dr. K., but he's also quick to let you know that it's not simply as easy as pushing yourself away from the table. From the time I started to "zero" in on Central Valley and started reading Dr. K.'s patients profiles, I never doubted his technical ability, and truth be told, that's all I thought mattered. Having now met him, I can't imagine wanting anyone else to perform my suregerey. that's all for now, as things progress, I'll continue to post more here. Late, Tony. Member Interests

My Story Hello. I've been researching WLS now for the last two years and have finaly decided to take the plunge. In my case I feel the D/S Lap will best serve me. I don't forsee any insurance trouble as I will be self paying. I guess that new Dodge Charger is gonna have to wait another year !!! Or two...Or three... As I write this, March 13, 2006, I am 40 years old, I stand 6' even and weigh 355 pounds, with a BMI of 48. I've always been overweight, and people have always told me I carry my weight so well?!? I suppose because I never let it get in my way. I've always been active, but have never been thin. Anyway, a diagnoses of sleep apnea and an inability to do the things I've always done, surfing, snowboarding, mt. biking, hiking etc. have brought me to the conclusion that I need to do something to help me get my life back. Or actualy, to take my life to a place it's never been. I've read alot of your profiles and commend you all for the risk you've taken. I know that there is no such thing as a " routine surgical procedure " anything can happen when you go under the knife. Well, I look forward to corresponding with some of you, and if you would like, drop me an e-mail sometime. BigTonr. ************************************************ April 14, 2006. Michelle at Central Valley ( in Delano, Ca ) has me set up to attend an all day event and an initial consultation with Dr. K. on May 11, 2006. If everything goes ok, I may have a date in late May or early June. Yikes !!!! ************************************************ May 12, 2006. Late, Tony. ************************************************ June 10,2006 Allright, according to my countdown ticker, I'm just over three days out from my surgery. I can't believe the time from my actualy commiting to the time of my surgery has flown by. It still doesn't seem real. It's strange, I actualy feel a little detatched from the whole thing, almost like it's happening to someone else. Even the process of getting all my pre op stuff, labs, physical, x-rays, etc. has gone pretty smoothly. I did run into a little trouble with some of the pre op medical folks either assuming I was having RNY, or really not being familiar with the D / S. hopefully I was able to educate a little. Tomorrow I pack up and hit the road for California. I’m actually having more stress about the trip than the surgery, oh well. I'll post some more when I get to Cali. ************************************************ |
