End of week one
on February 11, 2007 3:59 pm
Haven't written since the surgery.  I went back to work on Tuesday and worked the rest of the week.  Yesterday went to visit my mother and I guess the week caught up with me.  I fell asleep in her recliner for at least an hour and have done nothing but sleep today.  Today I am running a very low grade fever and hope it doesn't continue.

What a great day!
on February 5, 2007 6:26 pm
The day started off sorta on a bad note, traffic jam on the way to the hospital put me half an hour late arriving there.  The staff was ready for me and very professionally they had me ready for surgery on time.  After a few more tests and some additional paperwork  I finally arrived in the surgery ward.  Next thing I knew I was in recovery with Kay and she was equally wonderful.  Surgery started a 9:00 am and I was home in my bed by 12:00 pm.  I've only had 1/2 half pain pill and plan to try taking only the other half.  I have liquid pain releaver to take instead of the narcotic tomorrow.  Dr K just called to check on me and she is simply wonderful.  Well time for a walk and then to bed.  Thank you everyone for your well wishes.

Tomorrow's the day
on February 4, 2007 8:02 am
Well tomorrow is the BIG DAY.  Since I am self pay this process has went pretty quickly.  My first appointment was January 17 and surgery tomorrow February 2.  I've researched the lapband surgery for several years and last fall my daughter had bypass surgery.  She has done very well (lost 69 lbs so far YEAH) and I am so proud of her.  After going through some of it with her,  I finally made up my mind and I'm one to go after what I decide on.  I want to be healed and ready to ride as quickly as possible.  A little worried about losing weight and not being able to hold up my bike.  Just kidding, I'm sure it will be great.

I'm a little nervous about tomorrow, but I know everything will go well and I completely trust Dr. Kaniewski.  She was very informative and her staff it the absolute best.  They have a way of making you feel that you have been friends for many years and welcomed.  Will post as soon as I am able.
