Surgeon Testimonial

Michael Mann, M.D.
Dr. Mann has the sweetest bedside manner of any doctor I have ever met. He is so caring and concerned about his patients well being. I would recommend him to anyone that is eligible to have surgery through Keesler. He has always treated me with the utmost respect and care. I am very appreciative to him, he saved my life in more ways than he could ever know>

WOW... After reading the profile I had up here, I realized that it was WAY over due for me to update it.  My last profile talked about how "wonderful" of a husband I had. I must have been on crack or something when I wrote that.  I had Gastric Bypass on March 1, 2005.  It was by far one of the best things that I ever did for myself.  Sure there are times that I wish I had not done it, but that is mostly because I can't "pig out" when something tastes good the way I used to.  I weighed about 245 lbs when I had my surgery, I lost down to about 112 within the first year. I realized that I was too skinny at 112 lbs so I decided to do whatever I had to, to put some weight back on. So I ate some "not so good foods" and I leveled out my weight loss at about 130, which is a great size for me.  I was wearing size 20/22 before surgery, now I wear a size 6/7.  A lot happened in my life after I had my surgery.  I got my self confidence back and I took control back of my life.  I thought that I had done the right thing when I married my husband, but after I realized that I had turned into a person that I did not know or for that matter did not like, I realized that he was not the right person for me at all.  I am a very independent woman and refuse to be controlled by anyone. So, in May of 2007, I divorced him, and moved back home to GA.  I took some time to "find myself".. to enjoy the single life. In January of 2008, I met the man of my dreams. He is wonderful and we have a good life together. I am truly happier than I ever imagined I could be.
