Surgeon Testimonial

Donald Waldrep, M.D.
Its been a little over 7 months since my surgery, and I still feel the same way about Dr. Waldrep as I did when I first met him during my orientation meeting. He's professional, caring, thorough, and very competent. Dr. Waldrep takes the time to go over not only the benefits of surgery, but a realistic look at what is involved, both during the surgery itself as well as the aftercare, including the risks. Although I had to wait to see him during my initial appointment, it was worth it to know that he would take whatever time was needed to answer my questions. I received ample information, both verbally and in written form, and always felt that if I had any questions at all, he would honestly answer them for me. His staff is wonderful, and I really like his new NP, Deanna. From my research as well as my experience it is apparent that Dr. Waldrep is a highly skilled surgeon, and I feel fortunate to have been able to have him oversee my care.

At Restriction!
on August 22, 2009 9:57 pm
Well I haven't been blogging as much as I thought I would, that's for sure!!

First of all, I only have 7 more pounds to go until I'm obese and not morbidly obese!!  So excited!

I got a fill which bumped me up to 6ccs August 3rd...for the month before that I had pretty much been stalled - I didn't gain, but I didn't really lose.  Then as soon as I got that fill BAM!  I think I hit restriction!  I've lost almost 10 pounds since then and feel in control and great.  I'm so happy it didn't take forever to get to restriction, I feel so fortunate.  Most of the time I don't think of food in the same way I once did - in that obsessive way.  I'll occasionally get a craving for something "bad," and do you know what, I let myself have a little bit.  Not because I'm "bad" on my "diet" but because I find that having a little bit now satisfies me - Not only is it impossible for me to binge, but I no longer want to!

So now I've lost 26 pounds in almost 3 months - my first 3 months.  Most of this occured right after surgery and since my fill and I am honestly so grateful to have had this opportunity to get control back.  I am now 1/4 of the way to my ultimate goal and feel confident and ready to get better each and every day.
