Surgeon Testimonial

Donald Hess, M.D.
My first impression of Dr. Hess was that he seemed to genuinely care about me as a person and not just another patient.

The staff was wonderful and they all make sure you are completely aware of what to expect before and after surgery.

So far everything has been excellent. I have just received approval from my insurance company so I am waiting for a surgery date.

Bobbi, it was so great to hear that things are going so well for you!! This surgery is just an amazing gift of life. It is sometimes overwhelming for me to think about the second chance I have been given. I can not and will not fail at this. I wish you all the best on your ongoing journey, may it continue to go smoothly for you!

Thank you all for you well wishes. The surgery went very well. I spent 4 days in the hospital and then came home. I have gone through stages 1, 2, and 3 of the diet with no problems at all. I just started stage 4 today. I went yesterday for my 2 week check up and everything is great. I already feel so much better. I am so glad that I finally decided to go through with this. Thanks again for your notes. Bobbi

Reached my goal
on April 15, 2007 11:33 am
I reached my goal weight on April 4th.   Yeah me!!  As of today I am 5 lbs under my goal.  Because of my height I can probably go down 10 more lbs but I go see the dr on the 26th and hopefully he will let me go 10 more.  Especially since I am already half way there.  LOL

Hope everyone is having a great day!

2 pounds to go
on March 8, 2007 4:59 am
Well I am 9 1/2 months post op and only 2 lbs away from my goal weight.  I can't believe I have actually made it this far.  Life is so much different now.  I LOVE to go clothes shopping!!

My BMI today is 24.4  I am now considered healthy!!  It is such a wonderful feeling =))

I go back to the dr. on April 5th.  Hopefully at that appointment we will talk about having the extra skin removed.  I can't wait to have that done.

Have a great day!!

9 months post op
on February 19, 2007 5:02 pm
Feb. 17th was my 9 month aniversary post op.  As of today I have lost 176 lbs.  I only have 7 more lbs to go before I hit my goal weight.  I have gone from a 54" waist into a size 6 jeans.  I have never been happier.  I have so much more energy than I have ever had.

I haven't really done much on this site since I joined but I am going to try and update it at least a couple times a month.

If anyone out there wants to chat about their surgery or upcoming surgery date please don't hesitate to contact me.  I would be happy to talk to anyone and answer any questions they might have about the surgery.

My Story

Hi!  My name is Bobbi and I am a 37 year old female that has been fighting with my weight all my life.  Three years ago I decided to have the gastric bypass surgery.  I made the initial appointment and then a week before I was supposed to go I backed out.  So I cancled the appointment and tried to do it on my own yet again.  That didn't work so a year later I made another apointment.  This time I went and started the process for the surgery.  It took almost a year to go through the process and in Feb. of 2006 I was approved for the surgery and we set a date.  Then in May of 2006 I finally had the surgery.  That was the first day of my new life.  I do not regret my decision at all.  I am now 9 months post op and haven't been happier.
