.... Fall ... And feeling fabulous!
on October 22, 2012 5:10 am
Feeling great these days!  I'm so happy with my decision to have the sleeve.  Now I'm looking at options for increasing physical activities.... Going to the gym and doing a program to get me started.  I'm seeing and feeling muscles that I didn't know I had!

... Feeling lighter!!
on June 1, 2012 4:38 am
.... I'm enjoying my new found ability to bend and move without pain!  I'm able to walk the dog, bend down at his obedience school training, and walk longer distances without pain in my hips, ankles, and knees.  I'm so very thankful for my VSG!  I've come to the conclusion that I am a "slow loser", and that's ok ..... I take each day one at a time and as long as the scale is moving in the right direction, I am happy.  I really can't remember a time in my life when I wasn't obese.  The summer is here and I feel I've been given a new lease on life!!

Two weeks out .... And so happy!
on April 4, 2012 6:03 am
Spring has sprung!  I'm feeling well, incisions are healed and the weight is moving ... So happy!  Learning how to eat slower and smaller bites.  Have had no issues with nausea or vomiting, but still eat too fast and then feel like something is "stuck".  Oh well, I am learning.  Scale shows 287.4 Ibs today .... Down about 13 lbs since surgery.  I'm already feeling lighter!  Today I start regular soft foods, so will be experimenting with new recipes. My grocery bill has also really decreased..... Small 1/4 to 1/2 cup servings will do that.  Life is pretty good right now!  Still off work, but will return in a couple weeks

Had my sleeve surgery with no complications and looking forward to good, regular, sustained weight loss.  Spending time at home recovering and managing protein and fluids. Feeling stronger everyday!

.... On vacation in Arizona...

I am enjoying this week in Arizona... Time to think and plan.  I'm also hoping to do some shopping down here as they have so many more choices in terms of protein, bars, vitamins, etc.  I'm very thankful for all the information I am finding here. It is helping to solidify a very hard decision.... Surgery is serious business!  And I'm loving the warm weather here.... Sitting in the sun......

My Story

My story?  It's nothing spectacular .... ALWAYS been obese .  Can't remember ever being average, except maybe that week in high school when I made 160 lbs!  Combination of genetics, environment, will ....?  So hard on my psyche as I have always felt like a thin person on the inside, but as I've aged, the difficulties with painfull knees and hips have worsened.  I'm really looking forward to better health and a lightened mental load as I lose weight.
