Missed the Summer
on September 1, 2008 6:26 am
Well I've missed the entire summer!
I got a part-time job in June and it's been a hectic summer....
I have not reached my goal for Labor Day (today) of 140lbs down but I haven't gained any weight either. With the part time job and all the visitors this summer, I haven't been able to keep up my excercise routine but I have been watching my eating and getting in my vitamins and protein.

On a good note, I went to the Yankee game with my mother yesterday and what a difference from 2 years ago!
Two years and 130lbs ago I went to the stadium with my mom (a die hard fan) and some friends and had to sit wedged into the seat for 7 innings in pain. The seat was cutting off the circulation to my hips. I was too afraid to move until the seventh-inning strech because I didn't want anyone to see me struggle to get out of the seat.
This time when I went, I plopped right down just like everyone else.
It was great! I was so comfortable, I was able to really enjoy the game and the atmosphere.  It was great!
Best yet, the size 3X t-shirt I bought 2 years ago to where to that game fit like a night shirt yesterday so I couldn't wear it as I am now a size large (in tops). I was also able to walk up and down the ver long subway steps at the Yankee stadium stop without being winded,  out of breath and sweaty.
The milestones just keep coming!!! I am Sooo happy. Even if I don't lose another ounce, this was the best thing I could've done for myself!

I have 53 more lbs. I want to lose and I think i can make that my next
June which will be my 2 year Post-Op anniversary.
I know I can do it....
I'll keep you posted!

Back on Track
on July 15, 2008 5:22 am

I've finally gotten back on track with my eating.

We've cut out the sweets and gotten back in the protein habit!

I'm down another 2 lbs. this week for a total of 127lbs.! That's great!

I am SOOO pleased!  I hope to be down 140lbs by the end of the summer (Labor Day)!  So far I am on track. I've also begun running again along with weight training so that has also helped kick up the weight loss!

More to come!

Stay tuned

3 More pounds
on July 8, 2008 4:50 am
I've been doing a lot better with my eating.
I am down another 3 lbs.!   All total, I am down 125lbs.!! It's too amazing!  I just feel so great! This is really the best tool for weight loss for me. I struggled for so long before surgery trying to lose weight and now I have a 'normal' life and I can eat and live like a 'normal' person.  I have discovered that bread is still a weight loss inhibitor for me but I can live with that since I haven't eaten bread regularly for about 5 years!!!
It's just great to have a slice of pizza and have that one slice be enough or in most cases too much without having to beat myself up for it.
Can't wait to see what happens next!

1 Year Down the Rest of my Life to Go!!
on June 20, 2008 7:41 am
It's been 1 YEAR!!!

Life has been SOOOO good that I totally missed the fact that yesterday had been 1 year since I had surgery!!!

Everything has been pretty great!
I am down 122lbs. and I feel better than I have in years.
I just want to testify that this was the best thing I've ever done for myself!

I still have a ways to go but I know that I can make it.
It's been a year and I am still motivated to exercise and walk whenever and whereever I can.

I just want to say 'THANK YOU' to OH and BAF for the inspiration, love and support.
Even though I am mostly a 'lurker' know that your stories inspire and touch those that come to the site.

This site has been an amazing source for me and really helped me through my journey.
For those of you 'lurking' and watching, be encouraged and know that you are NOT the only one and we have all been there and understand.
Reach out when you need to and someone will be there.

Thanks again to all of you!!

Oh Boy!
on June 11, 2008 6:03 am

This time has passed so quickly....
It's been a while since i've posted.

I can't believe it's almost been a year and SO much is new.
I am no longer with the 'new guy' but that is no issue. The next one is right around the corner. 'Literally!'

I am so active now, I can't believe it.
I am more active now than in my best youthful years.

I go to church regularly, I have a second job and I excercise 3 days a week.

It is amazing!!!!
More to come later
