Surgeon Testimonial

David Diaz, M.D.
He was very nice and very honest. He let me know that he didn't think that lap band was right for me due to my sweet tooth. I liked that he came right out and told me that he thought I was the perfect candidate for RNY surger and that it would benefit my life. He was straight forward and I would recommend him to anyone.

Finally doing good!
on November 4, 2007 12:48 pm
Well, I had another dialation and then my gall bladder out and now I am all better. I can eat without getting sick for the first time since surgery. No more nausea and I feel good. I go back to work tomorrow for the first time in 3 months!. I am glad that I am going back but I also wish that I was independantly wealthy and didn't have to....lol. I am down 79lbs and hope to be down almost 100lbs by Christmas. That is 21 more pounds in 2 months. It seems reasonable but we'll see. I am just so glad that I finally feel good!

Through the Hard Part.....Maybe!
on September 26, 2007 5:00 pm
Well, I am 8 weeks out and after 4 hospitalizations and 2 dialations I think they have me straightened out. They found a bleeding ulcer and now I am taking medicine before I eat and no more vomiting. I am finally starting to get the routine down and i'm getting all of my fluids in.
Don't let anybody tell you that this is a cake walk because I have thrown up repeatedly every day since surgery up until this week. I am down 56lbs in 8 weeks and you can't beat that. I just want everyone to understand what they are undergoing when they sign up for this surgery. I am just now getting my energy level back and am returning to work Monday. I did go back once but after just a week had to be hospitalized again.
I will get some new pics up this week becuase the loss is very noticable and very encouraging.

2 week out today!
on August 15, 2007 5:19 pm

2 weeks out today and down 24lbs. woo hoo! I feel great and am finally starting to get the schedule down. I finally had to just take my food journal and write down vitamin 1 2 3 and then when i take a vitamin I mark one off. I did the same thing for calcium chews, protein shakes, fluids, and 10 minute walks. It sounds amazingly simple but it is the 1st day that I have met all of my requirements. I go back to work on Monday and I want to make sure that I have the schedule down before I throw a monkeywrench into it. My husband told me that he could tell I was losing today in my stomach and it made me feel so good! I will catch you next week with my weigh in.

5 days out!
on August 6, 2007 4:31 am
Well, I am 5 days post-op from my lap RNY and I feel kinda awful. I am having some real trouble getting in all my fluids and am not making my protein yet either. I feel kind of blah! Everyone says that it is just a stage you go through and I hope they are right. I think if I feel good today I will get out of the house and go to Wal-Mart to get some things I didn't think of before surgery, like tupperware to freeze my food in. I never thought that I could make a can of soup and that would be like 20 meals! There is so much of everything left. I will post again later this week and i hope to be doing much better!

Surgery date getting closer!
on July 22, 2007 7:08 pm
My surgery date is getting closer and I am starting to get butterflies. I keep thinking that this is the best thing to ever happen to me but I also keep thinking that there are so many things that can go wrong. I guess I need to relax and concentrate on healing in a positive way but i'm just getting so scared. Well I am going to get off here and see if I can't get my shopping list together so that I can go get all my vitamins and food items that I will need after surgery.

My Story

My story.......humhhhhhh

Well, here goes,

I am 34 years old and have been married for almost half of those years. (it will be 16 years 08/03) I have a 15 year old son and live in a very rural town in Indiana. I work as a staffing specialist for a staffing agency in Crawfordsville and am currently in the process of obtaining my PHR certification for Human Resources. I love to fish, go to the beach, and read. That is who I am, now let me tell you what I am not.

I am not happy, and I am not as far in my career as I thought I would be because I am overweight. I am obese,I am fat. However you say it, that is how I have come to define myself. I have been passed over for promotions, treated like an inferior, and basically ignored.  I finally decided that enough and enough and that began my current WLS journey.
