Surgeon TestimonialEric Bour, M.D..When I first met Dr Bour I was impressed of how detailed he was, He has a great Bed-side manner. His whole staff is wonderful. He is very strict and needs to be. His whole program is wonderful. His aftercare program is the best. I can honestly say that Dr Bour is the best in his field. He gave me a new lease on LIFE. Thanks Dr B

See More of my Family and a video of my special Kitty Stinky!
I had RNY on March 18 2008 and it was the best decision I have ever made. Me and My Sis made this journey together. Without her help I could have never done it. It's not the easiest thing I have ever done, But the Tool is the best one I've ever had for Weight Loss. I have enjoyed my life the last 3-4 months more than I have in the last 15 years.
Oh My on June 21, 2008 8:02 pm
I ended up in the ER and receiving 125mg of steriods and antibotics, lung infection again. I am beginning to think I have adreanal burn out. I hope it doesn't make me gain. I will be on 20mg a day for the next 5 days then back down to 10mg for 14 days then possibly back down to 6mg. When I was at my heaviest they gave me than much and it wired me. boy now has it really got me wired. I know there will be no sleep tonight maybe around 6am or so.......Well, I will be up playing games all night lol but at least I can breathe......Later....

3 Month Check Up on June 21, 2008 7:07 am
Well, It's hard to believe that it has been 3 months since WLS. I went to see Dr Bour yesterday and I now weigh 191. He said I had lost 48% of my excess weight, so I am almost half way there. lol So I am ahead of the curve. We hope that by my 6 month check up I will have lost down to at least 160. that is my hope his hope is at least 175. I will increase my exercise, Maybe some swimming and riding a bike. I am having some problems with my breathing today. the weather and the ozone is not good in our area today. so I am staying in and on oxygen. I just can't seem to cough up all the fluids. I hope it will clear up so I don't have to go to ER and they will give me more steriods. I don't want to have to take them, but if I do It will get better quicker. Well, later

Psych! on June 12, 2008 11:27 am
My hubby went with me to my 3 month psych appointment, and I bet Dr Calhoun thought we were nuts, Randy had her laughing and I was red faced the whole time from being embarassed. But over all it was a great visit. She said she didn't have any recommendation. for me. So It's either I doing good or nothing can help me...lol Then we walked around in a lot of stores and I truly got my exercise in. Next week is my 3 month check up with Dr Bour. I hope I have lost enough. I haven't weighed in a while, I think I will do better that way. Anways.......Later

Seeing the Psychologist on June 9, 2008 11:22 am
My 3 month visit with Dr Calhoun is Wed. I am kinda looking forward to it. I had to go to my lung Dr last Wed and he weighed me. I didn't want to look, but he was so excited that I did. I weigh.....drum roll. 197 I am under 200 yippie! I will see Dr Bour on 6-20 so I hope to be at least down to 192. I am not going to get on the scales when I see Dr Calhoun. I think I do better if I don't, because then I want to get on them everyday and I know that my weight will go back and forth for a few day cause of water gain. I had another breathing attack over the weekend but it was because it was so hot, so I am trying to stay in for a few days. We reached 100 yesterday. today it's 97 at 2:30pm. Well enough for now ,,,,, I'll let you know how my Psyc visit turns out....later

Camping Trip on May 28, 2008 5:43 am
My DH went camping from May 17 -May 23, boy did I have fun, the pollen didn't bother me at all, I was able to help him put up the tents (yes tents) Roughing it...lol....and set up the camp site. It felt good to do some work for a change. We went to Lake Hartwell, we didn't catch any fish, but had fun trying. We went to the Dam and it has 2 flight of stairs straight up, and I made it up with out stopping. And it was worth it The View was Beautiful. I walked so much, Then we got home on Friday all the un packing and my DH was so proud that I could help him, I use to have to just supervise lol, now I can supervise and do some of it my self. We did yard work on Sat. I enjoyed it so much. limbing up trees and cutting shrub. I love the out doors. I have been losing a few pounds but it's been real slow, so I'm not going to weigh again until I go for my 3 month check up on June 20. I have hid my scales (well DH did). I am loving my new life. I am so thankful for Dr Bour's program. The education was the best part. Now, I know what my body needs. Well later..........Get Out and Enjoy the Great Weather.......

My Story I am 47 married to a wonderful man, (slim I might add) have 3 girls all overweight ( I feel to blame) 5 healthy grandchildren, 2 boys 3 girls. And I want to be around to see great grands. I'm afraid If I don't have this surgery I won't be! I have bad health problems because of my weight, I've been disabled since 1996. And I want to go back to work.......
I love to travel. I was very active before, I played Softball, Swimming, Skiing, etc. Now my enjoyment comes from a chair.....Either Eating, playing on the Computer, Watching TV (cooking shows), Crocheting, Sewing, and other Crafts, Outside - when I can in a electric chair. Flea markets (chair) Sometimes even in the Grocery Store (chair) I went to Biltmore House a few weeks ago with my daughter and her husband and I had to use the elevator to go to each floor. and rest every few feet. Didn't get to enjoy the grounds except what I could see from the car. And that Bites......... I still try to go as often as I can. but I hate to put my husband through loading and unloading that big ole wheel chair.
Besides the inability to get around I've also endured physical and emotional problems.....Depression, being intrabated six times in only a couple of years. Diabetes (insulin dependant), Fatigue, Reflux, Insomnia, and much more. I have tried to keep going and when I have good days I find my self over doing it.....and making my self sick. but I feel like, I better do things while I can.
My family - My Mother's side has always had weight problems....My Father's side too! We are a Fat Family…. My Older sister has always struggled (she the one doing this with me) My younger sister was very over weight as a child and has always been on a diet of some kind at the present she is not over weight. My brother is even more over weight than I am. My oldest daughter is chunky right now but she goes up and down. My middle daughter is the heaviest person in our family. I hope that she will see me succeed and try this herself…..She is only 27 and is over 400.…not sure the she won’t tell us…. My youngest is over weight but she has been losing for last 6 months or so. I feel like this surgery can not only help me but others in my family. I wish there was a group rate! We’d just all line up and have it done. Well, this is enough of my ramblings. I’ll post again after my first appointment…..
