Michael Williams, M.D. Dr. Williams is the BEST! Highly regarded as one of the best surgeons in WLS, his care and compassion shines through. He's gentle and unassuming, understanding, listens well. I needed my surgery done laproscopically, for many reasons, not open, and he worked an extra hour and a half just to cut through all the lesions and scar tissue to make it happen! He did my son's surgery, too. Couldn't say enough about how wonderful he is. LOVE his nurse/assistant, too. She's great. Whole staff is so nice and personable. Risks of surgery were WELL defined. I DO wish there was more education prior to surgery (before just the day before) ... and that there was more aftercare.

Thank you ALL for your prayers! My talented, intelligent, handsome son is having the same surgery, RNY (lap) on Aug. 21!! We are so excited! God bless him! He was told 2 months ago he had to lose 20 pounds and I was really afraid he was chickening out and not trying to lose the weight. Then he went Tuesday (after seeing how well my surgery went, I think) to weigh in and he's lost 25! He's 6'2" and weighs around 420. We will be in this journey to a healthier life together! I wish his father was on this path with us, but he didn't get on board ("no one is cutting on me!") when we did. Then, the company changed insurance mid-year and anyone not in process with WLS wouldn't be approved.
Anyway, Corey is going to need prayer! I'll keep ya posted!
Surgery went GREAT!!! I came home yesterday from the hospital. Dr. Williams was able to successfully do it all laproscopically (was very "iffy") and it took him 1.5 hours just to get through all the scar tissue. After that 1.5 hours to do the Roux en Y. Bless you, Dr. Michael Williams, for not giving up and perserving through! I feel GREAT!!! I haven't even napped today and am barely taking pain meds. I'll be going back to work in two weeks. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!! Thank you, EVERYONE, who offered up prayers for my surgery and recovery!
Now, let's pray for my son, who is 20 and morbidly obese. He had to lose some weight before his date is set. He's going in tomorrow to weigh in. Hopefully we can get his date set SOON!! He needs this surgery soooo badly!
