Michael Williams, M.D. Dr. Williams is the BEST! Highly regarded as one of the best surgeons in WLS, his care and compassion shines through. He's gentle and unassuming, understanding, listens well. I needed my surgery done laproscopically, for many reasons, not open, and he worked an extra hour and a half just to cut through all the lesions and scar tissue to make it happen! He did my son's surgery, too. Couldn't say enough about how wonderful he is. LOVE his nurse/assistant, too. She's great. Whole staff is so nice and personable. Risks of surgery were WELL defined. I DO wish there was more education prior to surgery (before just the day before) ... and that there was more aftercare.

Got approved for surgery! posted on 5/14/08 5:05 pm Today was the first "big day". I GOT APPROVED TODAY. My 20-year-old son and I BOTH got approved by insurance. I just have to have cardiace clearance and he has to lose 20 lbs to shrink his liver. Now he's starting to chicken out on me. i want him to go first so I can help him adjust to post-op in case I have any complications (due to previous surgeries mine may turn into a lap to open). I can't let him chicken out! I would forgo this hard-fought journey to have this surgery 10 times over just to let him LIVE by having it. He says he doesn't know whether it's work the RISK, and having his insides all rearranged permanently, while having to give up "regular food" the rest of his life. ??? SIGH. Need your prayers.
