Richard S. Oakley , M.D. I felt on first impression he was very caring and dedicated to his patients. Now that I'm post-op I know this to be true. Pre-op and post-op his staff at office visits were very friendly. Pre-op phone calls could be more informative in my view.
He emphasizes aftercare and wants to see you after certain time spans with lab work done ahead of time for him to review. The first year is included but after that you will be charged office calls.
He does not sugar coat the risks in his lengthy speech at your initial office visit. I would rate him as excellent and would have him again if I had to do it over. I feel he has great surgical competence and a excellent bedside manner.I know it may sound to good but I really feel this way. This is my personal view and I'm not making any statements about anyone elses experience.

Suzan,
Congratulations and
best wishes for a
smooth and speedy
recovery! Don't
forget to take a
pillow and/or a Bari
Buddy (available at
the OH.com store)
with you to the
hospital, you won't
be sorry that you
did! You need the
pillow for all kinds
of comforts from
coughing to side
support and frankly
sometimes the
hospital pillows
just aren't really
great. Also, you
might inquire with
the hospital about
whether a fan will
be available to you,
if not and
permitted, you might
take one with you.
The combination of
the narcotics and
the leg cuffs they
use to prevent clots
makes many people
very very hot!
bright blessings to
you in this part of
the journey and much
success
too!~Caroline O.--
