It’s been awhile since I’ve posted. A lot has happened since my surgery. I’ve lost over 30 pounds since February 1, 2007, I’ve had 5 fills since and 2.3 cc in my band. My last fill was on Monday, I’ve noticed some changes, moreso this morning. I normally have an egg for breakfast but this week I only was eating yogurt, until today when I decided to try the egg – not so good! I’ve never had problems in the past with my foods after a fill, but guess things are changing!
Another great thing is I am engaged! I met Mario in February and we are getting married this October – most of the plans are made, just a few minor details to go over. I've attached a picture that was taken the day he proposed to me :)
We are going to Aruba for our honeymoon and the only ‘issue’ that I have right now is clothing – I’ve been steadily losing and am not fitting into my ‘old skinny clothes’ and my bathing suits are getting bigger on me, don’t get me wrong, I love it, but I really don’t want to spend any money on new bathing suits and you know how much those go for. I’m going back and forth to either buy a few new ones or have the ones I have taken in.
Depending upon what store I go to, I am either a 16 or an 18 in pants, in tops I’m a 14/16.
My goal for the end of the year is to be below 200 pounds :)
It'll be 3 weeks tomorrow since I've had my surgery and I've lost 15 lbs. The first week of broth and jello was horrible, the only good thing was on the 2nd week I got sherbert! My first fill isn't until March 16 and I'm pretty excited about it.
The area around my port is still a bit sore, but I can at least sleep on my now! I've been going to the gym 5 days a week doing between 30-45 minutes on the ellipitcal, ARC or the treadmill. I can honestly say, I haven't been that hungry, at times I see what others eat and want it, but the feeling subsides.
I was operated on (Lap Band) on 2/1. I came out of recovery fine, and my night in the hospital was ok. I had no probelms and at first didn't use the medicine button, let me tell you if you are in any kind of pain or discomfort, use it. I was a bit dehydrated but they pushed more fluids in me to help me go to the bathroom.
Since I've been home, the only problem I have is where the port is, that is the sorest spot so far and it makes it difficult to get up from bed, the chair or anything. For me, I put my hand on the bandaged area and keep it in - it seems to help, however everyone is different.
I tried sitting in a recliner but found the one we have has a stick to push/pull it in - which didn't help, so I chose to sit on the couch. Walking isn't a problem just the getting up and sitting down, even trying to get in and out of bed - I'm hoping it gets better within a few days.
As for eating, the broth doesn't taste so well, but I do look forward to the jello, I use a protein drink from Smartforme - eihter grape or wildberry passion - both are very tasty. I've had a bit of gas issues but I get up and walk around and use Gas X.
Well, I'm off to rest. I'll keep pre-op people posted.
