Surgeon Testimonial

Marc Antonetti
Dr. Marc Antonetti was really great. His office staff was very good and very supportive. They did not make me feel like I was a bad person or anything, they treated me with respect and dignity. I don't have anything to say about the surgeon, but I've been calling someone in his office named Lisa for 2 days and she has not called me back. I left anothermessage today.rnrnToday is 12/11/2007, and I'm getting very upset with Riverside surgical. My insurance tells me that my adjustments are covered now and because they have had problems with BCBS covering this in the past, they want me to pay $200 upfront and then let them file it for me. My insurance says that they should file first. I've called and spoken to the office manager and given them a number to call my insurance to confirm that the procedure is fully covered now, but they refuse to call me back. I would hate to think that they just want money and are not looking out for the interest of their patiens.

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
I tried it all, exercising, portion control, diet pills (prescribed) and I had some successes, but as the health problems increased, I had to stop taking the diet pill along with my regular meds. I was a mess, and gaining more weight each year.

It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench!

Brenda, Congratulations on your surgery date. I'm praying for smooth sailing and a speedy recovery. Sounds like you have the presurgery jitters. It's natural and I had them to. Try to relax; drinking warm herbal tea and reading a good book helped me.

I HAVE A DATE!!!!!!!
on September 21, 2007 11:37 am
I have a date, its November 6, 2007.  I'm so excited, this has been the most amazing and easiest thing.  I will receive a packet from the dr. office that will tell me all about my nutritional class schedule and all that.  But I can't believe that I'm finally going to do it.

Approval letter
on September 21, 2007 7:46 am
I'm so excited, I got my approval letter in the mail Wed. the 19th.  I got approved after the first letter.  How cool is that.  I have to call the dr. office to see what I have to do next.  I was thinking this would be a long drawn out process for me, but it is turning out to be a very good part of this journey.  I sure hope everything else goes this smoothly.

My consutation
on September 17, 2007 11:23 am
I arrived at Lexington hospital after getting lost down town, I was late, but Dr. Antonetti was finishing a surgery at the hospital and was on his way.  I was weighed and my before picture was taken.  I had to go back to my car to get my medication list.  In the mean time, I was still waiting on the dr.  One of the other surgeons gave me the option of coming back next week without charge, but I had driven an hour to get there and was not about to leave.  I waited on him, and he finally came in.  He was very apologetic for being late and tbanked me for waiting.  He was very nice he asked me about my health problems, he was especially intrested in my sleep apnea.  He asked if I had been given a CPAP machine, and I told him no, that my PCP had not prescribed me one even though I had  severe sleep apnea, I had stopped breathing  for up over 200 times during the night.    So he asked me to get those records for him and I did that as soon as I got back to work on Monday.  I also had my psych eval record sent to them also.  I had already had one for another surgery group I was going to.   He gave me a diet plan to follow, so that I can get used to eating by portion control and eating sugarless foods.    I've done OK on it, but only the scale will tell.
