Surgeon Testimonial

Paul Stanish, M.D.
Bottom line.....He is a very good surgeon. I would recommend him to all that has this surgery. I think that his staff is very good. His aftercare program is very well put together and all questions no matter how small are answerd without any attitude. Sometimes his staff are to relaxed with patients which can make things strange...not bad it takes time to get used to.

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
It was a day to day struggle that would never end. I would get so down on my self about eating that it would disgust me. I knew that eating foods that was hi in fat or sugar was bad but it dindnt matter to me...I did it anyway. sort of a self sabatge that I would do. I had no will power

Thursday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench! ~ JudyAnne

The hardest thing for me is .....  staying focused.  Not eating anything that we are not supposed to eat.  Carbs, things with sugar in them, to much caffeine or pop.   I would recommend going to support groups when you need that reminder that what you did before did not work and it will never work.  What you do now is the only thing that is important. So "stay focused" my friends.

2 Years and its all good
on June 1, 2009 4:50 am
Post 2 years and I am still 175lbs lost.  I have not had any problems that I would consider major.. I still get the occasonal nuasea when I eat something to fast or if i am not supposed to have...but that is a good thing because it keeps me from cheating.. As I have said before I would do it all over again in a heart beat.

Yes I have not been on this site in a looong time.  I am still at 205 and I still work out and feel great.  I do know that it is very important to work out often...I feel better when I do and the weight stays the same.  well you can keep losing or stay the same.....I am doing both and loving it

A bad start to the new year
on January 26, 2008 2:10 pm
On Jan 13 I went to the hospital because I was having very bad pains in my abdomen.  It turns out I had scar tissue that was choking off the blood supply to my small intestine.  Dr Stanish had to go in and unkink my intestine and clear out the scar tissue and all was right as rain after that........The pain that I had was very intense so if anybody ever has sever pain go to the hospital as fast as you can....If I would have delayed going I may have lost my small bowel or my whole system...Life is good right now..I just need to keep plugging along

Highs and Lows
on July 14, 2007 5:43 pm
I had blood work done the other day and I found out that my B-12 was very high.   My magnesium was very low.  I would assume that the operation has changed me into a work in progress.  I have corrected this and I am feeling good.  I have also lost a total of 90lbs.  I am very pleased.  My Diabetes is under better control.  My sugars are averaging 104...big change from the 165 pre- op.   so far lifes good....

Things are moving right along.  I have lost 72lbs on my scale and I feel good.   I had a bad reaction to soy, it seems that I swell up real bad and my throat starts to close up....other than that its ok..lol...THe atkins protien shakes have soy in them and I get a little tickle in my throat when I drink them so I will have to find another protien supplement that will not bother me.

Home from surgery
on April 22, 2007 7:37 pm
I am home and doing real well.  This surgery thing was no big deal!  I feel good I have  little pain and I guess everything is fine.   My doctor knows what he is doing that is for sure.   Dr Stanish and his staff are very good at what they do!    If I can just get over the gas pains I think this will be just alright.
