1 week post op today....

Sep 01, 2014

Well it's been a wild ride from surgery a week ago. I ran a low grade fever in the Hospital, my oxygen level dropped, I was given a chest Xray, that indicated some fluid, possibly going into pnumonia in my left lung, Oh, AND my blood pressure shot WAY up....SOOOO....i began to do my deep breathing and using the incentive spirometer every hour or more, causing my fever to lower, I suppose the fluid dried up, my oxygen level improved, and i have to follow up with my Primary care physician about the blood pressure issue...I was released on Wednesday the 27th...i came home from the hospital and after hating how the liquid pain meds made feel, i went to liquid extra strength tylenol very quick, and was up and around quickly, rather than being groggy and out of it from the liquid Oxycodone. I had the opposite of what some people have, i had real hunger. NOT head hunger. I didnt understand why and how some people can barely stomach food, after a bite or two. I wanted more than a bite. I wanted a dang cheeseburger! AND OF COURSE I DID NOT. I am just making the point that i was hungry after days and days of so little to eat prior to surgery. I have had NO nausea throughout this entire journey, thank GOD. I did have some REAL doubts and depression in the beginning , but after many helpful replies here from OH and all the "hang in theres" i feel a lot better...so I bought a scale today and today i weighed 219.5. 9 pounds since pre surgery! so no complaints!!
