Surgeon Testimonial

Khaled Shebani
I love Dr. Shebani! He is a wonderful surgeon, who cares about his patients and is pleased each time you go to his office with your progress. He does not expect that you have the same results as other patients and that each person is different from the next, I love that the most! I would do it again with him as my surgeon anyday and anytime! I also love his staff, he has recently moved his office, still in Ocala but has two great staff members that make you feel at home. I have seen Dr. Shebani come to the front of the office and answer the phone and talk to patients on the phone first hand, that is awesome to me that he is that involved in his practice.

Pain when I eat
on October 21, 2011 6:19 am
Hi,

I am about 3 and half weeks post surgery and when I drink something or eat something it causes pain through out my stomach. It feels like gas pains passing through my tummy and I almost hate to eat or drink anything. Does anyone have suggestions or is this something normal to feel? I am also having trouble being comfortable sleeping because I still have a drain tube in. Any ideas?

My Story

Hello everyone!

I am happy to be here. I started my journey in January of 2011. I made a sound decision that I was going to have the RNY surgery. I met with the surgeon on January 26,2011 and started my six month plan of dieting. In February, I was put into the hospital for divirticulitis and was in for 5 days. I was not able to been seen by a regular physician for another month so my weightloss did not count until the first appointment, which was in March of 2011. I went to every appouintment and did what the doctor asked even theoufjh she was not very supportive of the weightloss surgery. I lost maybe 5 pounds off and on throughout the six months. I finally had everything complete and was ready to schedule the surgery. My approval wsa easy and my date was set for September 28, 2011. I was very excited and was sitting on pins and needles til the day came.

I started out at 330 pounds and have successfully lost 44 pounds to date. I am very pleased with myself and hope to continue to lose more and more weight until I reach my goal. I still have the tube in for drainage or feedings which ever is needed and I cannot wait until that comes out. It is scheduled for removal on November 7, 2011. I hope after that sleeping is much better because I can't sleep very well just on one side or my back, it causes some pain in my rear end. I am hoping to start walking more and helping my digestion so that going to the bathroom is not an issue for me much longer. I also know that I need to eat more protein, I find it hard to fit it in and then I am so full feeling that I can not take in any more fluid.

Overall, I feel much better and hope that I get healthier and healthier as time goes by.
