Surgeon Testimonial

Jorge Sosa
Dr. Sosa was not the first surgeon I went to see, but he was definitely the last! I was really pleased with his seminar at Palmetto. He is very straight forward and honest, which is something I find to be very important when you're looking for someone that is going to have your life in their hands. I went to the seminar of another surgeon that gave the run around when asked how many patients they had lost during surgery, that turned me away from that surgeon completely! Not Dr. Sosa, you don't even have to ask him, because it is something that he elects to tell those who attend his seminars right away.
I had surgery with Dr. Sosa on Dec. 22, 2010 and I'm very happy with my decision. Just know this, if you are looking for a Dr. that will hold your hand, Sosa is not that Dr., but if you are looking for a GREAT surgeon with lots of experience then go with Dr. Sosa, you will not regret it!

Sorry
on March 1, 2011 1:34 pm
Sorry fellow OH'ers I know that I have been neglecting my blog here on OH.  But since I have started my new blog "Bye Bye Pounds", I have been pretty busy coming up with healthier versions of things I use to love to eat.  I just posted some new pictures today, so if any of you are still following my progress just visit the link above.
I will not abandon OH or the persons whose progress I have been following. I continue to post in the forums and I'm always willing to answer questions for those in need of help.

Until next time. Take care everyone!

P.S.  If you like the recipes you see, please comment and become a follower :)

Working Out :)
on February 2, 2011 8:28 am
So I started working out this week and I'm really loving it... Granted I'm feeling a bit sore today, but I know the end result will be worth it :)

One of the trainers at the gym told me I should try using Preparation H on my arms and anywhere else I may have loose skin and wrapping it with plastic wrap. She says its one of those little secrets that club goers use.  So I'm going to be trying this out soon.

I went in for my 1 month post op check with Dr. Sosa last week and he said I was doing good.  According to their records I had lost 31 lbs.  He said that I could work out just no situps for the first year.  So that's what I'm doing!

I can't wait to start seeing the inches melt away now that I've joined the gym! :)

I'm sooooo excited!

Happy New YEAR!!!!
on January 2, 2011 8:37 am
Happy New Year to all my OH friends!

It feels great to start off this new year on the "losing" bench :)  I am actually looking forward to summer this year!  I have lost a total of 17 pounds since my surgery, which I think is GREAT! I was already able to notice the difference the other day when I wore a blouse that use to look like the buttons were gonna pop when I wore it.... Now it's nice and loose all around :)

I still have lots of pain on my right side and can barely sleep because I need to sleep on my sides or my belly to actually fall asleep.  So I'm still on the recliner for now, which is really starting to kill my back. Any advice on how to sleep more comfortably I'd appreciate :)

So that's all for now.

I'm HOME!!!
on December 25, 2010 11:05 am
Well as many of you know I was scheduled for surgery on the 22nd... Everything went great.  I am sore as heck, but that is to be expected.... I'm wondering if anyone else experienced more soreness on the right side?  It hurts soooo bad that I barely want to move!  I make every effort to walk around the house every once in a while to keep the circulation going.

I have another question for those of you who had surgery with Dr. Sosa. Those multivitamin capsules that were given to us by his nutritionist are HUGE... can we open them and stir them into some juice or something?

Other than the soreness I'm feeling good... not hungry at all! And I'm down 9 pounds since surgery!!! Woohoo!!!

I can't wait till I can notice the difference in my clothes :)

Looking forward to all your comments!

Results are back!
on December 21, 2010 6:56 pm
So I called my PCP's office this morning and the second test came back negative!! Yippee!!!  Now I woke up with a stuffy nose this morning and it has yet to go away :(  I'm hoping this will not interfere with my surgery... I'll be heading to the hospital in a few hours... I will try and keep everyone updated from there if possible.
Very soon there will be a NEW me!

Yet another bump in the road!
on December 20, 2010 6:21 pm
So I go to my PCP today to get my test results and my medical clearance for the surgery on Wed. and my doc tells me that my urine test came back positive for a kidney infection.  We're hoping that it's just a case of mistaken identity since the day I took the urine test my monthly friend arrived.  My doc took a direct sample and I should have those results tomorrow... I'm hoping and praying that it will be negative and have no impact on my scheduled surgery.

I will keep you guys posted.

BTW... started my liquid pre-op diet... UGHHHHHH!!!!  I'm starving! My head is pounding and I can't wait for the 22nd to get here!
