I first spoke with Dr. Fang at the seminar at St Lukes, but had already heard wonderful things about him. Two co-workers had him as a surgeon. He is soft spoken and his empathy shines through. My center Manager died after surgery and that scared the B-Jesus outta me.rnI later found that she had a history of genetic heart disease and that was the reason for her death. She knew the odds going in, and that was her decision to make.rnI will have my consultation with Dr. Fang on August 8th, and check back in with youse guys then.rnDr. Fangs honesty and willingness to talk about the fatalities as well as the sucess numbers puts me in the \"yes\" mode.rnI am 406 pounds, down from 421 oi vey!!!rnMy insurance company is doing what they call a pre-determination with me, I suspect this will cut down on the red tape, yet, being over 50, I have many tests ahead of me.rnI only found out a month ago what my true weight is...I have been in a state of shock since then. I know I can not go on this way.

I have lost 16 lbs so far - still pre-op

I am waiting to go to sleep, it is 3 AM and I am supposed to get my surgery date today. I hope the call comes, and I pray the date will be for soon, not months away. I have lost 16 pounds on my own so far, it wavers between 16 to 18 pounds. I am not an open person by nature, but I will post in here because it is good for me, I am told.I am happy I did not have a surgeon, or insurance that required a certain weight lose before surgery!
