Surgeon Testimonial

Michael Trahan
I liked Dr. Trahan the first time I saw him at the workshop to introduce WLS. He has a wonderful personality and I have liked him better with each visit. His office staff is wonderfully upbeat and supportive. So far haven't found anything to not like about Dr. Trahan. I would definitely recommend him to others. His emphasis on after care and being there for me plus a support group at the hospital once a month is wonderful. I feel confident the aftercare program will be laid out for me. He has been open and honest about any risks of sugery. I would rate Dr Trahan a 10 and have great trust in him. Both surgical competence and bedside manner are crucial! I am glad that Dr. Trahan is my surgeon! I have him in my prayers.

Thanks for the wonderful poem!!! I am so thankful for all of the wonderful friends I have made this week. I am having trouble falling asleep tonight. Excitement I think. Not really anxiety. Though I am thinking and wondering how painful the incisions will be , how long I will be on pain medicine, whether I can navigate the stairs to my bedroom etc. But all that will be answered tomorrow and on Tuesday. Thank you for all your prayers and good "skinny" thoughts! Jeane

Before surgery

Hello all,

It is only four days and a wake up and it will be surgery day.

I am getting quite excited.  Also as I eat, I am saying, "this is the last time for this for a long while"  Almost everything I ate so far today will not be on my "list" for a long time.

I am a pastor of the United Methodist church.  A lot of my job is in eating situations.

This morning, (every Wednesday morning) at 9AM was the ecumenical pastor's breakfast.  Not a whole lot there that will be on my list for a while.

Then at noon, (every Wednesday) I eat with the Senior Citizens group.  There was NOTHING that they served that will go on the lap band menu.

I have already told the pastors about the surgery and will eat breakfast before I go and just drink water with them.

I think after the surgery. I will drop by the Senior Citizens lunch but go earlier and just visit with folks and leave as they begin to eat and eat lunch alone.

Unfortunately, I see alot of "alone" eating now and that already makes me feel lonely.

At least I have found this web site to blog on and to hopefully make more friends going through this bariatric stuff as well.

Thanks.

Jeane
