Airline Flight PostOp
on April 22, 2008 3:08 pm
Antoher WOW I wanted to document.  I flew to Houston yesterday and was so excited to not need a seat belt extender.  In fact.... I was able to tighten the belt.  Usually the belt is at maximum capacity, cutting off circulation - thus the need for the extender.  But no more!  I'm extender free!

Also, I have been crossing my legs a lot.  It feels so good to look so feminine when sitting.  Instead of sitting with my legs slightly ajar because my thighs are too big to have my knees together.

God is good, isn't he?

Can You Believe This?
on April 21, 2008 7:24 pm
I weighed 219lbs yesterday.  Oh my goodness.  I haven't been under 220lbs. in I can't remember how long.  It feels so good.  I had my major WOW moment this weekend.  I went out to find a sun dress for church.  I pulled a size 20 off of the rack, looking at it thinking... this will fit.  I tried it on and was swimming in it.  I asked the sales lady for a size 18.  She brought it.  I tried it on and it didn't quite look right.  She says, "Honey, you need a 16."  What! a 16 - are you kidding me.  Sho nuf .... the 16 fit and looked AMAZING.  I bought two dresses in a size 16.  Now slacks are still a size 20.  The junk in the trunk is still holding on.  I did buy a pair of Levis from the resale shop in a size 18.  They are tight, but look good.  I haven't worn tight jeans in a long time.

I feel such joy at the changes my body is going through. I'm so blessed to be on this journey.

I Love my Gastric Bypass!
on April 9, 2008 3:38 pm
Today I am officially 226lbs.  55lbs. gone forever!  I feel amazing.  Clothes feel good on me.  I have more energy.  I don't use that CPAP anymore.  Life is good.  I sometimes feel like the pounds go slow, but I try to look at the bright side.  If I'm a slow steady looser, maybe my skin will not be as saggy.

My complexion has improved dramatically.  I can't remember if I blogged about it before, but about a month after surgery, my skin turned into a mine field.  I looked like a pubesent teenage girl.  And nothing I did would get rid of the little buggers.  Finally, I decided to rush down to the mall and pick up the old faithful: Proactive.  I had used it in the past when acne reared it's ugly head.  Then after I healed I passed my stash onto my sister.  Well, it worked again.  I in a few short weeks, my skin was back to its radiant self.  The true test will be this week since Aunt Flow is visiting!  Wish me luck!

I'm so blessed ot be on this journey.  God is so good!
