Hi, I'm Rene'... Im 39, single, and waiting for my approval and surgery date..... My paperwork was submitted last Tuesday, May 13th, and I am anxiously awaiting the call...I can't wait to have this life changing surgery and am currently on Opti-fast to lose some weight prior to....This site is amazing! i have been on all day at work and I can't get off...I will be posting some full-body pre-op pics, but i want to get my date 1st...until then I will post my INFAMOUS HEAD SHOTS lol which are current, but by NO MEANS tell the story...
i started my journey 4 months ago and I am so looking FORWARD to my date with destiny.... and so it begins....UPDATEUPDATEUPDATE!!!
SURGERY WAS 9/3/08... IM 6 WEEKS OUT AND DOWN 43LBS...
GONNA START VLOGGING MY PROGRESS ON YOUTUBE VERY SOON...

K, SO i AM A SLOW LOSER! UGH! 5 LBS A MONTH IS JUST NOT GOING TO CUT IT!
FOUND THIS ON THE BOARDS...IM GONNA TRY IT!
How to break a plateau

#1 - Do this for 10 days to break a plateau

#2 - Drink 2 quarts of water a day

#3 - You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your vitamins/minerals supplements each day

#4 - You may consume up to 3 oz of the following high protein foods, 5x a day

beef
pork
chicken
turkey
lamb
fish
eggs
low fat cheese
cottage cheese
plain yogurt or artificially sweetened (?)
peanut butter
beans/legumes

You may also have:

sugar free popsicles
tea or coffee
sugar free soda
sugar free jello
broths/bullion (sp?)
crystal light drinks

#5 - If it's not on the list, you can't have it for 10 days!!!!

#6 - Keep a food diary and try to get up to 30 mins of exercise daily

I am just over 8 months out...down about 101lbs and just started working out this weekend! I love it! i have been to the gym for 3 days in a row now, and and hoping the addiction kicks in=)...still considered a slow loser, but I feel amazing!...

OK, SO I DIDNT LOSE THE LBS I WANTED BY END OF JANUARY, BUT ME AND MY GF'S HAD A GREAT TIME....
AS I NEAR THE 100LB MARK, I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR THIS SURGERY AND JOURNEY!!!
WHEN I LOOK AT THIS LATEST PIC I CANT BELIEVE HOW FAR IVE COME.....
THE SAGA CONTINUES....

My Story

I have been overweight all my life...weird thing is, my whole family is tiny! Im talking 5'7 and 115lbs...the females in my family are all small boned, including myself... so this is long over due... I cannot express how excited I am and now, how I anxiously await my surgery date.  I found out yestyerday that I was approved by Healthnet...havent heard from my surgical center yet though, and believe me I have called!.. The hitch now, is that the company that I work for, decided 2 weeks ago to switch Insurance companies...UGH I FREAKED OUT AND AM LITERALLY SICK AT THE POSSIBILITY THAT IT MAY AFFECT MY SURGERY...SO I WAIT...AND MY NEW INSURANCE IS SUPPOSED TO GO INTO EFFECT AS OF JUNE 1ST...I WILL GET MY DATE JUST PRIOR TO THAT...OFCOURSE SO TO MAKE A LONG 5 MONTH JOURNEY LONGER... I AM SICK OVER NOT KNOWING IF IT WILL GO THRU OR BE DELAYED OR DENIED DUE TO THE INSURANCE SWITCH...i want this sooo bad!!!!...the saga continues....
