Surgeon Testimonial

Craig L. Floch
After doing an extensive research on Bariatric Surgery, I attended a Weight Loss Seminar conducted by Dr. Craig Floch in Fairfield, CT. My first impression of him was that he was very knowledgeable, informative, and professional in manner. I knew right away that he was going to be the Surgeon to perform my surgery. Since that time, I have not regretted my decision as he has proven to be very professional and not so medically minded that he is not humanly grounded to his patients. And that is one of the many things I love about Dr. Craig as he made both me and my family feel very comfortable and reassured us along the way. The office staff is just as outstanding and are always easily accessible with a remarkable Aftercare program to their patients even years later. Since the success of the surgery, my health is great and my life is good. Presently, I am pleased to be be an active Advocate of Bariatric Surgery and honored to be one of the many faces of Fairfield County Bariatrics. DR. CRAIG YOU ARE THE BEST IN MY BOOK!

10 Month Post-Op
on January 27, 2010 5:12 pm

Hey Everyone,

Just a update.  I am now 10 months out and I am looking and feeling great!  I had to come back home to Charleston, SC on an emergency visit as my grandma took ill and I was needed here to help take care of her.  Thanks to God, she is doing alot better.  Well now I have not been back home in three years and when my family saw me after all that time, they could not believe their eyes !  My mom picked me up and almost walked right pass me.  She thought I looked absoulutely AMAZING!  I was compared alot to my thin sister, yeah the one that always made fun of my weight cause I was always the biggest out of all my sisters.  Now as riveting as it may be, I am now the smallest out of all of them.  Well all my family was floored and wondered what did I do, what is the secret, you guys know the things we get.  But I must say, it really felt incredible to not be knit picked about how fat I got, whose legs and hips I got, etc...u know.  If anything, so many of them got motivated to lose weight, eat better, and get healthy.

I continued to work out here by doing my laps around the track around here and do my resistance training with my portable bands.  Since I have been here, i have lost a little more weight and gained some muscle mass.  I am now 164 lbs, size 7/8 from 270 and a size 22W.  Dont worry I will have to take some pics and show off this new body that I have worked so hard to get!!!

I am so proud of myself and the successes that I have acomplished since WLS.  I got a call from my doctors office if I could attend a photo shoot on Saturday.  I told them that I would be honored to do so as long as I am back in time from my trip.  I simply thank God for this opportunity to make a difference in so many peoples lives.  This trip has been such a  blessing even though it started out rough, it ended smoothly with so much love and appreciation.  I thank all of you for your support during this very crucial time.  I look forward to the next time to touch base.  Blessings & peace...

I can't believe it's been 9 months already!

Hey Everybody,

Wow, has time just flown by.  Happy New year to all and wishing each one of you a good and prosperous one.  Well the holidays are long and gone and overall I think I did fairly well.  I did splurge a few times on some of the holiday deserts but made up for it in the gym.  I found out the things I can still eat and some things I cant.  i use to be a big fan of "Egg Nog" before my surgery but I tried a little over the holidays and I got so SICK!     So I know not to do that again.  I found out that if I do decide to do any sugar, no more than 9 grams!

It has been pretty exciting getting to know my body a little better over the holidays.  I was hoping to make my goal of 160 by 2010 but I did not accomplosh it this time around.  I am only about 8 pds away after being 270 pounds 9 months ago, I must say I am delighted with those facts.  I am wearing a size 8 in clothes and it feels so good to shop now.  My goal is to maintain my weight loss with exercise and good nutrition.

I had a skin fold done last month at one of my fitness support groups where they match the fat on your body against your lean muscle mass and found out amazingly I have only 23% of fat on my body which is quite remarkable in comparison to the fitness therapist who has 22% and is 140 pds!   I could not believe it, the therapist told me that where I am now at 167 @ 5'8 is perfect for me now because of my lean muscle mass.  She told me to keep up the resistance training at least 3 times a week and gave me some bands to use to intensify those workouts.

My youngest daughter use to call me "sis. big bone" now she catches herself when she says it to me now and rephrases it by saying, "oh wait, I mean "sis little bone."     My kids think that I am 'skinny' wow imagine that, me called "skinny."  Sounds foreign when you say 'BRE' and 'skinny' in the same sentence.  But I lovvvve it!  I have worked hard, so hard and still working hard and its worth every bit of the rewards! I wil upload some new pics this week.  Till next time friends...
